how many Originals were built?

I'm working on my column for Red Power and I want to mention how many Originals were built. I can't seem to put my hands on a serial # list that shows when the Original stopped and the 70/100 started. I don't need an exact figure, just how many thousand were built. I was thinking it was over 60,000 ...

Re: Engine Starting Promblem

If the condenser is doing its job, there should be very little (if any) noticable spark at the points. However, you should get a spark at the plug by manually
opening the points like that.

I like your attitude. Maybe we can keep fall going right on through till spring?
I don't yet have a hankering to plow snow.

Re: BRINLY BB-100 dump cart mounting!

I have one for a Cub Cadet and it mounts to the Brinly sleeve hitch with a single pin just like the plow, disc, and other Brinly implements do. On a JD I think they mount directly to the tractor and don't use the sleeve hitch. Can you post some pics of what you have? I should have some pics of mine ...

Re: Anyone ever see this guy?

Mike L, The tractor in the video you are talking about is probably my puller. Here is a thread on it; http://www.cubcadetcollectors.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=22 I am thinking about bringing it to plow day next spring but it won't be doing any plowing, just pulling. The tractor in my Avatar pic ...

I saw the post before it was edited and I think I understand why it was posted, but it was a poor choice of words.

I can't get the image in William's original post to come up on either my home computer or the one at work. So this whole thread
is kind of a mystery to me.

Deka also makes NAPA batteries and have for 5 years or so. Charging the batteries with a 1 amp or so trickle charger at least once a month makes a BIG difference in the life. I have a couple of the cheapy Harbor Freight chargers and I just keep them working all the time and rotate them once a week o...

Re: Driveshaft support bearings

I think the lock collar will take the load ok. If they are properly locked they can take a good bit of thrust (think how hard some of the pto bearings are to get off). I think I may be ok now. I think I had the shaft pushed forward leaving some slack before it was pushing against the input shaft. I ...

I'd say the writing is on the wall. If there are any stations left that sell gas without ethanol, they won't be for much longer.

As long as it says on the bottle that it meets IH or Case/IH Hytran B6 specs and is from a good quality supplier
you should be fine.

Terry, I'm not sure I completely follow you. It sounds like you are talking about putting a spacer between the back of the spring and the coupler. I don't think that will help me. I'm more concerned about taking pressure off the input pinion. The Original reduction housing I'm running relies on a sn...

There is some info about running E85 on Brian Miller's site and he does mention drilling the main jet out. There was also some discussion on the Yahoo garden tractor pulling forum. Some guys said it helped and others said it wasn't worthwhile. I would think it should make more power privided the eng...

Driveshaft support bearings

I'd like to see pics of different types of driveshaft support bearings. I'm having some trouble with the clutch on my diesel because my setup isn't rigid enough and it's letting the driveshaft move backward. So I'm looking for ideas on a different setup, or ways to improve what I have now. It is har...

I didn't know if I should hi-jack this thread or start a new one. Since it is kind of related I'll put it here. What are you guys thoughts on running E-85 in a flathead Kohler? I'm talking for stock class pulling with a 4000 rpm limit. I like the cylinder head discussion too. Some of you may know th...

Mike,
It is the 7-1/4" Chrysler rear they are talking about.

Jim,
No they didn't add any moisture, that is why the dust was flying so bad on the last run.

need dimensions on a 582 throwout arm

I need some dimensions on the clutch throwout arm on a 582 or 1050, 1606, 1806, etc (82 series style gear drive).
They don't have to be super precise. I need the overall length, and the distance from the top pivot hole to the center of the hole the driveshaft goes through.

Kevin,
Do an internet search on Wankle rotary engine or Mazda rotary engine and I'm sure you'll find all kinds of info on how they work.
If they can be woud up they can make a lot of power in a small lightweight package.
