Re: Rusty pulleys...

Assuming you are discussing the 450/451 throwers, replacement pulleys are available from MTD.

At the end of the season I remove the belt and all pulleys get a spray coat of paint.

Re: The Official Weather Thread!

A year since a white grass post. We'll you guys out in the mid west better lube the thrower! I'm all set for winter with the blade mounted on the 1650 and thrower on the 1811. Never did fix the lift issue on the 1650. Blade lifts enough to plow ok and fix set for next spring. 2020-10-20_11-03-09.gif

Driveway Washing Out

A few of you folks have driveways that wash out in heavy rain. Take a look at the YouTube video of using Geocell to help hold the stone in place.

According to the parts diagram it's 5/16 X 1-1/2 and have on order from McMaster. Can it be driven in from below?

Re: Snow Blade Lift Height 1650

So if that is supposed to be a roll pin, it's been replaced with a bolt hammered in. Either it's backed out or not in far enough which doesn't allow the rock shaft to pick up the front blade.

Make sense?

Re: Snow Blade Lift Height 1650

Finally found time to check on the 1650 lift.

Looking at the linkage it appears this bolt has back out and is jamming the linkage. does this look normal?

Re: Snow Blade Lift Height 1650

it will spin on the inner shaft that is driving it. Tom thanks for the suggestions. If I get full lift from the rear rake and not the front might that suggest broken pin? If they are sheared, easy replacement? FWIW currently working on a yard full of cut off branches from a downed maple tree. 1650 ...

Snow Blade Lift Height 1650

I've used my 1650 for years with the snow blade for winter work without issue. This winter I noticed the lift height wasn't what it used to be. It would only lift maybe 2" max. Yesterday I mounted the same blade set up to my 1811and have a good say 4"+ of lift. So before I tear into the 1650 looking...

I installed a Honda GX610 from Small engine Warehouse years ago into my 682. Decent price and included everything for the installation. The coupler was machined perfectly.

1811 Blue Wires

Doing lots of maintenance on my 1811, it's used in the winter with the 450 thrower.

I find two blue wires above the rear end. Any idea what these re used for? There is one on each side.

That certainly sounds like a nasty winter! Glad they got your plumbing fixed! Been doing maintenance on the 682, rear lift frozen now freed up and greased. Front axle pivots R&R and greased and the mower deck cleaned and reinstalled. It's amazing how easy the mower raises and lowers with the rear li...

Re: Steering Knuckle

A 5/16 bolt and a small sledge broke it loose. Air punch finished the job. I did wake up the neighbors at 7 AM punching it out.

I agree on over greasing things, makes such a mess.
