Re: Original Starting Problem

Sounds like a possible bad VR. Or a bad battery to VR wire. With the engine off check for battery voltage at the B terminal on the regulator. Also make sure the wiring on the start button is correct. You should have the positive battery lead on one side and a lead from that terminal to the B termina...

Re: Original with big ags...

Try ME Miller tire. They list a bunch of ag tires and if you don't see it call. They probably have something there. I know folks have bought 16" ags from them for Power King tractors.

Geezer, borrow one of the vibrating tachs and see what you get. I have two of them and like them much better than the electronic ones.

Well when it's OFF it should be 0.. :o

When it's on it should run 2000 rpm. BUT you want to be careful what you try to run off it. I have heard that the rear shaft coming out of the hydro likes to break if the PTO gets a severe shock loading.

Re: Thank you Santa !!

Bryan, I have a Sims cab on the Cyclops already. The cab I have doesn't have the steel doors though. The current doors are sitting in the front room of the house warming up so I can replace the velcro and sew in a replacement window. I was thinking that a new cab could be designed to my specs. For i...

How much?

I'd love something like that for the cyclops. Probably add lights and have glass cut for all the windows.
Wish I had a super with a water cooled engine. Would be nice to have better heat in the winter. Course then I'd want a stereo......

Hmm a 20 passenger "Yoder Toter". Have a few of them around here now, I know one person who decided that he could make a lot of money owning one, picked up a new van, got all the paperwork done and made about three trips. The van now sets out behind his place, He found out that he really doesn't lik...

Ok, What browser are you using? IE or something else? MSE is OK but you have to go in and play with some of the options. I believe there is an option in it that clears all the browser cache and cookies. In that you can tell it to keep certain cookies. It could also be that it changed the settings in...

I'm getting closer. Have the fender pan off the 2283 working on tightening up the hydro controls a bit. Found one item which I may need to look at on the rear end, One of the bolts is missing BUT it isn't leaking and a new bolt placed in the hole sounds like it's hitting steel. Not sure what that is...

Re: Driveshaft Help

You're going to need some serious modifications to do this. The easiest starting point would be the entire drive line from a 1782. Barring that you would need the engine adapter , the two CV joints, the drive shaft, the fan, and a modified rear drive shaft coupler. The hard parts are the engine coup...

I use a Mac that isn't tractor mounted and it has a chipper section on it. Basically it chunks the wood then it runs through the hammer mill section. You could install the chipper flywheel on the 59M but the tractor itself is in the way of where the chipper chute attaches. The screens and hammers ar...

Re: Dose anyone ever change a flat tire?

Any vehicle built since about 2000 with airbags has the ability to record the speed you were going when the bags deployed. The system records constantly but has limited memory capacity. Most keep roughly 20 seconds. It records speed, throttle setting, brake setting, outside temperature, gear, engine...

The problem is determining which M&W ag company they really meant.

Consistent with the phase-in commencing October 5, 2005, all new light vehicles must be equipped with a TPMS that meets the requirements of the standard by September 1, 2007, with the following exceptions. Vehicle manufacturers need not meet the standards requirements for the TPMS malfunction indica...

The larger deck is one reason. Also the length allows for better balance of the tractor with the larger tires and wider stance. Makes it more stable. It also makes it more comfortable to run for some folks.

You mean like this one? It's one I found somewhere online and drew up a sketch. The uprights and brace are 2" X 3/8" The cross piece is 2.5" angle. The holes are 1" from the edge. I think you could easily use a box section. With that you could put a receiver in the middle. Hitch complete.jpg Hitch C...

I have done a few upgrades to my tractors. Like changing out the tie rod ends for spherical ends w/grease fittings! Adding a different fill tube for the rear end. As for the drain plug I think the reason has to do with the way HyTran is supposed to handle water. It encapsulates it and keeps it out o...

The weird thing is they still call out to the same part number, but are not really interchangeable. The only real change is the location where they welded the backer washer to the spindle.

WHY do they change parts by stupid dimensions!!

Ok WHY does MTD want to screw with people like they do. I went to swap the front tires (rims and all) on the cyclops tractors. One is a 1641 one was a 1863. One is 95 vintage and the other a 94. Somewhere in that time period the front spindle was changed !!! The ones on the 1641(95) measure 3 1/16" ...

Re: Super Garden Tractor Lowering Kit for 451 blower

Here is a quick drawing of the plate. Holes are symmetrical so the dimensions work for all 4 holes.
The 4 " is the finished height so I would probably make the bend first, or make a test part and see what the offset allowance would be.

I have been working all the kinks out of the 2283 and still have a couple things to do. In between cutting a section of the floor out of the house to repair a bad door install, Water got in and rotted the sill and a floor joist end.
