Re: rear pto 1572
Just to follow up on Tom's post, if you do need a Cat 0 hitch at some point, I purchased on from Ruegg Mfg...who does build them new. They are an exact copy of the original Super hitch and I am very impressed with his hitch. He does an outstanding job, and his new hitch costs the same or cheaper tha...

Re: Steering wheel/hood clearance
the problem usually is that the grill housing has been pushed backwards, causing the hood to interfere with the steering wheel. Check that and see what it looks like....

Re: Newest Cub Addition
Dave, that's more or less it. I used my other panel off of the 782D as a pattern, cut it out and used a grinder to make it as smooth and as close as possible to factory. I have not done the bottom slots, and not sure that I'm going to attempt to. I know the Supers came with them, but my 782D doesn't...

Sounds like a plan! Sucks when you have to part with some, but unfortunately we've all done it!. Sounds like you are liking the newer 3000 series, that's good to know!

Question for the 72 series guys, what is the correct yellow and white paint for these tractors, and where do you suggest picking it up? I need something decent, but not top of the line paint....

Geez BB, of all the days to be running to Ray's, you pick the one I can't slide up and meet up for a bit! Ray's only a little over an hour from me, but we'll be pulling the M tomorrow morning at Delta, PA and tomorrow evening at Mechanicsville, PA! And sandwiched in between, my son has a grad party ...

BB, that exact thought has crossed my mind!! lol Not so sure I want to take that project on, but we'll see. In the meantime, working on getting the 1772 cleaned up and some things fixed. First and foremost, got the side panel cut out and fitted around the exhaust. Wanted to get rid of that god awful...

Newest Cub Addition
So, I've added another Cub to the herd. Came across this 1772 Diesel, and couldn't pass it up. This is how I brought it home, but I do have the tunnel cover, side panels and a correct muffler to put on it. Mechanically, everything is very sound and tight, the hydro works good, the center lift works ...

Re: New to me 782
20140401_191946.jpg Since the weather finally broke around here and there's no more snow on the ground, i finally got back to work on the 782 today. It fired right up after sitting the last couple of months. I got the sleeve hitch mounted today, and a set of ags will be next after i get them loaded...

Re: 782D Inheritance
When i bought mine a few years ago, i paid $1500 for the tractor alone...no deck, 3 pt, etc. and it's got 400+ hours on it. Being a red 782d does increase the value a little as it doesn't seem there are as many out there. A lot depends on condition too of course...

Re: 782D Inheritance
The 782D is a great tractor, and with that few hours on it, should be in really good shape! The 3 point hitch comes in quite handy for a variety of attachments, and the don't use much fuel at all! When I take mine to plow days, I can run all day on a tank of fuel and still have plenty left to mow gr...

Re: Retiring the 1450 loader cub
Jess, I would have to agree with BB, the 982 with PS. That's the set up I had my loader on and it worked great! I did initially put my loader on a 782, but the larger platform made it much more manageable, especially when you've got the bucket full. The ps is a HUGE help, and you'll often wonder how...

I've been wondering the same thing. i would love to put my power angle 54 inch on my 982, and move my snowblower to my 782 gasser. i've never really looked to see what it would actually take, but it can't be that much, can it?

Welcome to the forum! I have always wanted to restore some of my Cubs, but between the time and seemingly endless uses for them, I've never restored one yet! My O is going to get restored, and mayb I'll finally get to that this year!.

Welcome to the site....and meet a bunch of guys with the same addiction! I also had a lot of narrow frames when I first got into the Cubs. My first was a 73 that I had about 13-14 years ago that my son and I used to enjoy. Wound up selling it and 2 others I had picked up in the meantime due to finan...

I can tell you that when i started, i was like you...didn't knwow much about the carbs either. They are very easy to work on and yes, that bushing can be replaced. I haven't had to do one yet, but i'm sure others can help you through it if you need some help.

Re: 125 carburetor
First question i have for you, if you already have a carb, what kind of shape is it in? Second, have you considered buying a used one and with a little work, rebuild it yourself for much less money? i know some guys on here will have some decent used carbs that soaking in some carb cleaner, a $13-14...

Here's my .02. I like having them separate only because when I want to go back through and look for a specific thread that I want to review, there are less that I have to scroll through and search. Along those lines, I also have all IH built tractors, other than my diesel, so a lot of the CCC thread...

Inline heaters for diesels
Question for everyone. I've been using a magnetic block heater on the oil pan for my 782D, and that along with the battery conditioner have really helped out my winter starting. I'm going to do the glow plug upgrade in the near future, but wanted to find out if anyone has used any of the inline heat...
