1772 updates

I finally got around to getting some work done on my 1772 with some time off from work. I dropped the differential and swapped out the housing since the one in it was broken as most are. While putting it back together, I mounted the http://www.rueggmfg.com cat 0 3 pt hitch. 3 pt hitch.jpg I also add...

Charlie, I think you are remembering correctly. I believe they held an auction to sell his Cub stuff. As far as the nursing home, I'm not sure, but I think I remember him not getting around quite so well anymore.

That I do BB, but I almost hate to use it! Needless to say, I am, but I will definitely take good care of it, as I do with all of my equipment.

Re: THE 3240 thread

So, while we're on the 3240 topic, again, it seems that another one of those jumped on my trailer and came home with me! This one was a little more expensive than others that I have had, but given the overall condition being near showroom new and that it had some valuable attachments I need, it made...

Re: 982 three point question ?

Jim, I've had both the Xtreme hitch and the Ruegg hitch. While both are very nice, the Ruegg is a much heavier built hitch like the original. It is very well made and if I'm not mistaken, powder coated and the Xtreme hitch comes bare metal. In addition, the lift arms are the proper type that actuall...

I've been looking for one too, but man they go for some bucks!! Since I've already got 2 10" sleeve hitch plows, it's not a need by any means, but really want to try a cat 0 plow sometime.

Re: 3240 Hydraulic Conversioin

At this point, you can see all of the hydraulic lines and how everything is installed. After looking at the triple stack valve compared to the single valve, I decided it was going to be much easier remove the hydraulic lines from the single valve and leave them in place and install the triple valve ...

3240 Hydraulic Conversioin

After getting my CC 3240, I decided I wanted to use it for snow removal in addition to it's mowing duties. In order to do this, I needed to change from single hydraulics to triple hydraulics if I wanted to use a power angle plow. As luck would have it, I came across everything I needed....the triple...

BB I'm going to post in the How to section as I work my way through. Needless to say, it's already been a learning experience just getting started! So far, I'm to the point of getting ready to swap out the hydraulics. I am going to replace the O rings before I install the valves.

Re: HDS 3185 Questions

I have a 3240 that I use as my primary mower and I love it! Bryan Baker from this site turned me on to them when he started out with a 3165/3185 and 3240. They are great machines, plenty of power, mow really well and you can find attachments for them, but they do tend to be a little pricey. All in a...

Re: 2284 not a very popular machine ?

I will 2nd Oak on the Ruegg hitch. I put one on my 1772 and am more than happy with it! The craftsmanship is second to none and it comes with all of the hardware needed. The only issue I did find is the 3 bolts that go into the left axle tube were too short....otherwise everything worked great.

Re: Super value

That's a very interesting question you have, and I'm not sure there's really a clear cut answer. I think, by and large, condition plays more of a role in value than model. I have 2 1772's, neither of which I paid a whole lot for. And actually, the last one, I'm still looking for the red and blue lig...
