Re: 10 over piston

Thanks Jeff.
The piston measures 3.375 so it is at the small end of the tolerance....smaller than I would prefer.
I guess I was looking for validation.
Well the block will get re-bagged until I have extra funds to buy a Kohler piston :(

Since I found my Syncrowave 250 I think I will sell my Lincoln Square Wave 175.I bought this machine new in '04? and have used it only in my shop(no commercial use).If it had an hour meter I would guess it has less than 20 hours on it.It has an air cooled torch which was standard and also has the op...

Can someone tell me what a .010 over piston for K301 should measure?
I have a manual but I am looking for confirmation from other like minded people.

Re: Spoke rims

I would make the parts Paul is describing but to make a solid connection drill and tap 3 holes equally spaced around perimeter of the adjoining parts and run a set screw in and lock tight it.
I guess it would help if I post this after type it and not 18 hrs later.

Todd, you are a really smart fella and pretty handy too  .Why not have some pieces of sheetmetal sheared and build your own? You could even make one from a fueloil barrel or a 55 gallon drum, heck I have seen pics of them made out of OSB.The big thing is it needs ventilation.Mine has a "dust bag"...

Re: More Johnson loader pics/Here ya go BigMike!

The major change to the hoses/lines would be to put elbows out the top of the valve and shorten the lines to match. Another change would be to lengthen the boom for more reach but keeping the stanchions back were they are(to keep as much load on the rear axle as possible). The last change would be to...

Re: More Johnson loader pics/Here ya go BigMike!

I had two reasons to mount it under the hood. I wanted the ability to start and stop the pump in case it would have to set where temps got cold but the main reason is I wanted to make sure it was safe from damage. I keep saying to myself that I will build another one and when I do I will use some of...

Re: More Johnson loader pics/Here ya go BigMike!

Josh,it looks just like mine.
You should have a flat bar that runs just in front of the pedestal and ties one stanchion to the other.
I would flush everything out with kerosene or diesel fuel as I found lots of black sediment in my oil resevoir....I believe it was from the old hoses.
