Re: Kohler M 18 S motor governer replacement

You are in for a full tear down to replace the governor. Pulling the jugs, and the case apart is the only way to do it. Hopefully you got lucky and nothing else is broken inside, but the rarely fall out without taking something else with them.

Re: THE 3240 thread

Well after messing with the 3240 for so long I was banging my head.... I thought I cooked the starter So I ordered in a eBay/China one. Same results. So today I decided to start by un bolting the drive shaft. Once free the engine was still stuck. Ok out comes the engine, about a hour later it was o...

Re: Kohler magnum 20 exploration

For a long time I considered building my own tractor until I found the 3K series that had essentially everything I wanted. With that in mind....You could also use a command engine. It would be a bolt in affair with a few parts from a donor Cyclops. I really like the Commands, and those engines seem ...

Re: Kohler magnum 20 exploration

Another option and one I have planned for some day is to find a real low hour vertical crank engine. I found a mag 20 vertical with 200 hours on it I plan to use the cylinders etc off of to rebuild/build a 20 for my 782 as I'd like to have a little more power than the 18 provides. I'll still be out ...

Re: THE 3240 thread

I found a bad relay next to the starter I unplugged and no change. I unplugged the harness that it was plunged into, P/N 629-3078 (it had a tag) and everything works as it should. Goggle tells me that the harness is a bypass but for what?! help guys... off to tube that soft front tire and mow my la...

BB My New College Edition of The American Heritage Dictionary of The English Language includes in the definition of the word cousin "A member of a kindred group or country........" . :) SO... by that reasoning you and I are cousins, as is Vince! :) I'm OK with being cousins with you, but do we have...

Re: Could be a cousin.........

I have been around Cub Cadets (mostly IH built) for a number of years, and have owned more than I can remember, from a prototype, to a test unit,to a pre production model, to at least one of most of the production models, to CCC built z-turn, to one of the current XT3 CS model tractors. The last tw...

Re: Our Friend Geezer

Saint Peter watches the long road between mortal life and Heaven. In the distance a patch of orange and white appears on the horizon. As the dust settles the angels hurry to open the gates as wide as possible to let a battered U-haul van through. As the van pulls up Peter looks in the window and at...

Re: THE 3240 thread

At some point I'm gonna peal all the decals off of one of mine and have my buddy reproduce all of them. That way any of us with these tractors or if anyone wants to clone one they could. IDK what you call a cloned one. The Mustang guys call cloned Cobra's "Fobras" :) I've also given serious consider...

Re: THE 3240 thread

Picked up this on ebay a week ago pretty cheap. An actual 3240 owners and parts manual, but what I really wanted was the hang card from the steering wheel when it was new. I thought that was neat.
