Today I turned my attention to the cracked right front fender . I was lucky that it was a clean break with no missing chunks , and that the inside was unpainted raw fiberglass , the problem is that it was an old break and it had a rather large gap that taken a set , there was no way to hold it close...

Daves correct . If the bearing goes out ( locks up ) you cant turn the deck off . BTDT on a couple of cubs I've owned . Also if the PTO coil shorts out I believe it has a fuse so I'm also thinking thats not his problem . I may be wrong , it wouldn't be the first time .

I've seen a partially blown head gasket do that . Runs good till they warm up and then lose power and die . Check for oil around the headbolts .

Mike , I know your welding guru and I usually wouldn't contradict you but I've got a Lincoln SP-135 and they'll weld up to 1/4 with good penetration .

Terry , are you referring to the snowblades ? If you are the the only difference is the mounting bracket (subframe) , and lift rod length . The 42 inch snow blade is the same , they just take a different subframe .
