Re: First mow pics
So I started the 1872 for the first time this past Thursday and mowed a few high spots. This week I will need to get after the whole 9 yards here. While I was changing a few of the cars oil today I figured I better do this one too. So much for a factory cub cadet oil change. Yes that's John Deere ye...

Yes..I know about white pines! My parents have a stand of them 100 feet long, and man are they brittle. I was just over last week cutting up some of the winter casualties. Chipper looks great and I would consider one if it was a few years ago, but their years..or months are numbered there. It will b...

Wow you know the whole story. Thanks that is interesting stuff.
I guess someone high up really wanted to go all different directions with the company. From implements and tractors.... heavy equipment...then guns and refrigerator...cars and lawnmowers. When you say it like that ..no wonder they fell.

Re: What I did with my tractor today! (Pic heavy please!)
Lol. Yes filling the engine sheet metal could be a problem. I'm just imagining a young person with one of the new battery operated grease guns just standing there unloading a cartridge saying.." I don't see were this goes but it must need more" Paul yeah you found it alright. There's only one ...

Re: What I did with my tractor today! (Pic heavy please!)
Ok thanks. If you had to describe this lube, does it smell or feel like any other off the shelf grease? I guess the key to using a grease is keeping dirt out so it doesn't get dry or gummy. Just thinking out loud and using newer heavy equipment technology. I wonder if possible to make a remote zerk ...

Good to hear you got it all fixed up! You mentioned you lubed the starter Bendix. Just wondering what you used for that? I did graphite one time and my results were so so. I know I will try to start my rig here soon...and unless the battery is tip top and above 75 degrees the starter acts funny. It ...

Re: Shop organization
Yes LEDs have their place but they can look and feel funny. I have been installing many led high bay lights at a factory and man is it harsh! They are probably in the 5000-6000 color. Ouch. So the first aid kit at home gets tossed around as it doesn't have a good home and Tom wasn't far off. But I s...

I thought I would piggy back this on here because it deals with the shop. I have wanted a light for a long time. I looked at a lot of different fancy lights....but decided on 40 watts of old school. I made the wiring look as factory as possible by tieing into the switch back. IMG_20220319_163931776....

Re: What I did with my tractor today! (Pic heavy please!)
Looks like a good project. I would recommend while you are in that deep check your valve clearance. As they wear they sink into the head and your valve gap gets too tight. I'm not an expert on this but it's not too difficult to adjust.

Wow...you did good for a thousand!! The ones I looked at were a couple grand. Yes that engine runs amazing. It has very unique sound. I mowed with one as a teenager for a few years. Here's what's crazy and correct me on this...but i think it's rated at like 15 or something horse power. I remember it...

Welcome! Looking good. "A cub cadet on steroids" as I would tell my boys as we were driving to look at one. Those lo boys were on my bucket list for years. Every one I looked at was a little rougher than I wanted. So I would come home and get on I think it's Hamilton bob's website and go through the...

That picture Joe just confirms to me that I made the right call getting involved with cub cadet vs wheel horse. At one point my dad had both and I maybe could have gone ether way. The wheel horse just looks cobbled together. It looks like someone made it in their garage. The cub cadets are so smooth...

Yep Steve that is a problem and compound that with this is mostly a wood shop. When I got all done I asked my wife to come out and see my creation. I have this space over a small work counter in my workshop. I was thinking peg board but really looked at my needs and peg board wasn't it. Looks really great!! Is that a new wiring harness? I know they can get pretty stiff and crusty I guess from the cheap wire and age. How did the fuel tank drop in? Did you have to do any mods to get things to fit?

Good to know Paul. Yeah I have seen this guy on eBay and utube, seems like a good guy. I have Kohler m20 valves saved in my watchlist from him. He was the only guy selling them on eBay. I'm not sure if he makes them or came into a stock pile of them. Either way I should probably buy them to keep on ...
