Nice find Jess,the few I had,one came from a guy whose lawn was hilly and also on a slight decline,of course it smoked and knocked.It had over 1000 hrs on it.

any oil leaking behind the pto or the flywheel end of the motor?Those seals are know to fail.

The relay for the reverse switch can go bad also,it is next to the battery and has Bosch on it.

Picked this up last thurs,1810 with 605 hrs,runs well and the 50" deck cuts well,but it needs a pto bearing.Looks like a keeper.

Yes it is a 2284,I needed side panels so I picked up a 1440 with some on it and did the deal.Pretty large for my use,runs and drives well but the paint on the deck is non existent When I got it home,it needed a new fuel pump,and a few other small stuff.

Yours has nice rims and paint.congrats!!!
