valid point, I really don't have anything to lose at this point. When I get home this weekend I may just try that.

Re: New 782
thanks for replies. I guess no good deed goes unpunished, just trying to get it in working order and looking good for my pops. I have had governor problems before on the K series engines and fixed them, but I don't think its worth the time and effort to break apart a series I. Its a shame because I ...

Re: New 782
Have definitely hit a brick wall on the governor. Engine runs great. It's just the governor sticks. I've tried every possible adjustment, at a total loss. Would appreciate any info, thanks

Re: New 782
Got it dissasembled. Pushed it out and gonna pressure wash it then re assemble and get it running. Had a lot of water in the tank. I pulled both heads and milled them and put new gaskets. Engine turns over ok. Cleaned hubcaps up too. Will show it cleaned up and running next. Have to take daughter to...

New 782
Just hauled in a 79 IH 782. I found this one for my dad a month or so ago and went with him one Sunday morning to pick it up around falls church, VA. It's a one owner, series I. Came with 50" deck and snow plow. All hubcaps. I got all my project tractors up and running so I went over and picked this...

Re: Electric motor lift
Thanks for the replies. It does have the clutch. Gear isn't stripped too bad but enough to not work. I tore apart a parts lift I had with a good gear. Tried briefly to remove it but ran out of time, will resume when home again this weekend. I probably won't really use the 126 for anything just got i...

Re: Electric motor lift
Yup, worm gear is stripped. I've got a good electric lift off a 128 hate to strip it though. The motor worked great forward and reverse it looks nearly new probably had no run time. The previous owner took the lift off and rigged up a hand lift and busted up the console in the process. Replaced that...

Electric motor lift
Just got a 126 going tonight. Been on the back burner for a few weeks behind several others. Runs great. Put a new switch for the electric lift on. The motor runs and sounds good but the shaft doesn't come in or out. Any ideas what to look for when I tear into it tmrw night? Hoping someone has some ...

6 9/16 bolts to remove the engine on those. I pull all mine from a deer hoist in the garage. Good time to pressure everything off. Easy to remove starter after that, just did one the other weekend. A local shop can rebuild my starters for $60

Re: Tiller Help
The part number you need for the PTO belt is 549250 R1 for that series of early wide frame tractor. You have a model 1 tiller if it has the extensions, but model of tiller does not matter, the belt is the same. There is plenty of cross references for that part number belt, but I have found that AX-1...

Re: New Guy, 108 Rebuild
That turned out very nice. I was mostly ignorant to that series of cub cadets, mainly interested in narrow frames and 82 series but recently acquired a 108 and 128 and their fun and easy to work on. Again, nice job bringing that one back

Re: Snow Plowing
I have a 982 with 75 lb wheel weights and Goodyear 26x12 ags, it is used to operate a big 450 snowblower, I don't use chains on it, just go real slow. I have a 102 that I use for plowing and it has 23x10.50 ags with 50 lb weights and I do use chains on it. My 682 I installed a spring assist, you'll ...

Re: Who's ready for Winter?
Got the blade hooked up to the 102, so now I'm covered between it and the 982, now we won't get any snow. The 102 or the blade won't win any beauty shows but it's one of my more reliable workhorses that just won't quit. Got the snow removal crew sitting closest to the garage door

Re: Who's ready for Winter?
Looks Nice! Did the old gear just wear out....or did you hit a newspaper? Do people still get news papers...... Just wore out. I was using it on the only sizable snow we got last winter and the augers stopped spinning figured shear pins(heavy wet snow). Got it to garage and saw it was in the box. T...

Got the 450 blower mounted on the 982. Put a new brass worm gear in the blower gearbox last year and got the 982 serviced and ready to roll. Got a snow plow for the 102 for small snows, good to go

Re: #2b tiller on a CCC 582
You would have to modify the tiller mounting bracket as the bolt pattern won't line up on the aluminum rear. I've never seen it done, you also will need the rockshaft and lift bar for the sleeve hitch in order to raise and lower the tiller, and the 582 being hand lift, you'll want spring assist to l...

That carry all hitch is nice, I only have IH cub cadets I assume that would work w mine. Already have a b21 kubota for commercial stuff just thought be nice for the novelty to have a nice cub cadet w a loader. That is a nice option you put on yours for sure

What model is this pto switch for? I haven't had an issue yet* on getting a pto switch from my local napa. Yes, it is a five terminal switch. I agree these tractors are getting old, I still think parts are readily available. I try to scarf up as many as I can while I'm home and keep the best indoors...

Yup that's the issues I've had on those tractors , usually a faulty ground more often than not. I'm not near my 149, the only wide frame of the 1x9 series I own, but on a 124 the ground is here below the s/g.

I have the belt shield for the deck also just gonna clean it up better wanted to see how well it worked and it's great. 782 won't turn over
Picked up a IH 782 that had been siting out for a couple years. Ok, got coil returned, it was simply sent with the wrong bracket. Ordered a new one from casegardentractorparts.com as well as the oil filter gasket, thanks Oak. Just got new coil installed correctly today. Now only runs on choke. So figure definitely carb now. Is the emulsion tube I pictured earlie...
