Re: Tractor info.
Initially in the late 50s it would have been the 240, 460, 560, and 660 none of which were hydro. They continued to build the 140 till 1980 which was long after the other models had been replaced (multiple times). The sheetmetal was changed several times to keep them looking current, but the model #...

Kohler Command question
A friend of mine brought me an off brand tractor with a 23hp Command verticle twin today to work on. I poked around with it enough to determine that one of the pistons isn't going up and down. Obviously it has a broken rod. I have only ever had one of these engines apart and that was 20 yrs ago at a...

A 106 should have external brakes so you'll have to remove the brake caliper too.
CR part # is 9878 and should be available from NAPA.

I think I may have a bad CD/DVD drive in my one year old laptop. I'm having trouble reading the mini discs from my Sony camcorder. They read ok before but I'm getting an error message. If I open up the DVD player program, they will play, but I can't copy the videos into the hard drive. Is there any ...

Jim, A sweep is what we use now. There is a belt from the sweep's gearbox that powers the thresher. I am talking about bypassing the sweep and powering the thresher directly by the Cub's belt pulley. I have thought a time or two about doing what you are talking about as wel,l but it would be a lot o...

Michael, We are all pretty much new here since the site has been around less than a month. A lot of us did know each other from the old site though. So welcome to the bunch! Your best bet on the fuel tank would be to contact one of the parts vendors to get a good used one rather than try to fix your...

I bought a rear PTO for my 100 at Red Power and I have been looking for a Farmall Cub belt pulley to put on it. I happend to stumble across one at the swap meet for $50. That is abo...

Scott,
Does it have 1" or 3/4" spindles? If it has 1" someone probably swapped the whole unit from an 82 series.

It will go right in. The only thing you may have a problem with is the length of the drag link. It may have to be lengthened or shortened.
I even put a cyclops axle in a NF for my loader.

Re: steering wheel removal solved
Jim,
It looks like the lower clamp part could be used with a regular 3 bolt steering wheel puller. If that is the case, you may want to consider selling just the lower part for guys who already have a 3 bolt steering wheel puller.

Anyone have any experience with these; http://www.tinytach.com/tinytach/diesel.php It looks like it would be the cat's meow if it works good. Re: Farmall M info
The Super MTA is a later, different model than the Super M. Technically the TA was an option so it was possible to buy a Super MTA without the TA and it would still be a Super MTA and not just a Super M. The SMTA used a longer clutch housing and the tractor was longer overall. They also had live hyd...

Re: Farmall M info
A Super M is 1/8" bigger bore although most straight Ms have been changed to the bigger sleeves and pistons by now. The Super M has disc brakes compared to band brakes on an M. The Super M has faster 2nd 3rd and 4th gear. Some of the later Super Ms had live hydraulics. The Super M was a transitional...

Some guys are running an 8" Crower or knockoff but I have been told they are about $1200. That last hook I pretty much rolled it out at an idle then mashed the throttle. I never really built any boost at the line. I didn't expect the sled to pull that hard. I didn't know at the time he had the sled ...

Could also be from overheating caused by plugged cooling fins. I have seen that in a lesser degree on quite a few engines I have rebuilt.

Lyle, Do you have any links to where you got info on the booth? Martin Senour like to use 8:4:1 for single stage paint. It can also depend on what VOC regs the paint is made to meet. 3.5 VOC is usually reduced less than 5.0 VOC. And everyone, You may already know about this and I don't want to sound...
