Re: It followed me home and it's Ray's fault...

Yeah, I owned one a couple of years back the now resides at that Ray guy house..........who ever he is :D I just bought this one to get it back to KY. It was sold new in Lexington, KY, spent the last year in OH, and now it's back. The poor thing is going to get an "old age" complex. It's first owner...

Re: Original front tires need help

I have used the tire paint from Miller Tire, on the original GoodYear tires, if that is what you are asking about. It will not fill or cover up cracks unless they are very small, but it does give the tire a "new" look. It is a concentrate that you mix with water and brush on. It is not shiney like p...

Jess,
I figured out pretty quick you were not selling one of them, when I was talking to you  This is the one from Middletown, OH. From all indications, the other one was missing some of the 800 only parts, and after talking to the guy, more than once, I didn't want it.

Re: It followed me home and it's Ray's fault...

Those white thingy's on the wheels are "anchors" to stop it 'cause the brakes don't work very good either.........What you expect, it's a QL. Vince, The frame is uncut and it still has the small starter. The replacement for the small starter is a bigger one, and has been since at least Mar of 1992, ...

Re: Belt pulley

Todd, It's going to be slow because of the Cub Cadet's 7 to 1 gear reduction before the transmission. The PTO on a CC turns 514.28 RPM at 3600 RPM engine speed, where as the Cub PTO turns at engine speed. A 1947 Sales brochure for the Farmall Cub list the following based on the early Cub engine max ...

It followed me home and it's Ray's fault...

This came home with me today, and it is all Ray's fault. I had 800's out of my system until I had to haul one west for Ray... This is another Kentucky 800 by way of Ohio. I had a chance to buy this one last year in Lexington, KY, and made an appointment to go see it, and canceled the appointment the...

Re: IH Cub Cadet 800 going west ( Iowa )

Josh, If by "muffler box" you mean the tin/sheet metal box around the muffler, it is the same as all the other QL's, however the diecast aluminum part (parts manual calls it an Air Duct) bolted to the front of the 8 hp engine that the tin box bolts to is specific to the 800. All the other QL's use a...

Re: IH Cub Cadet 800 going west ( Iowa )

Scott, According to information that has been posted/published by Hank Will and or Ken Updike, thefollowing models have the lowest production totals. The next 7 in order range from 16318 (123) to 39102 (100). Model 800= 2345 built Model 169= 3977 or 4005, both numbers have been stated, but 4005 is t...

I like the individual threads because you can follow the replies or post to those you are interested in without having to read thru everything that has been posted, or post that don't apply. It keeps the post subjects together.

Re: IH Cub Cadet 800 going west ( Iowa )

Vince,
It is the only QL worth having, and there were only 2345 of them built (lowest production of any of the IH built Cub Cadets). I have had either 3 or 4 of them and all of them came from KY. One of them ended up in the collection of this short, round man in PA....

Re: Trailers

Here is an example of what I mean when I say a trailer is always 2' to short. This one is 22' with two Lo-Boys, an Original and the stretched "O" with the Teledyne engine, and all are tied down, but there sure isn't much "wiggle room" between them. I would rather have more room between them because ...

Re: IH Cub Cadet 800 going west ( Iowa )

I tried to mow what grass that was still green last Friday and had to quit cause I didn't have a dust mask and goggles on. Mower engine was so covered in dust/dead grass clippings , and hot enough, I was afraid it would catch on fire. Didn't want to cut grass anyway.........

If the Good Lord's willing and the creek don't rise,It will be in Fredricktown Wednesday afternoon, but I don't know what day it is leaving Fredricktown, so it depends on what day you are there as to whether or not you see it.

Re: CCO pto

Kevin , I wondered if the grill needed to be cut out because mine has the hole and it is "framed" similar to what Geezer did for his M&W installation, but it doesn't look like that is called for in the instructions Geezer posted. Ray picked up an O with a PTO (may be the one your parts came from) ab...

Re: Trailers

Todd, I have owned several trailers from 8' to 22', and with angle iron frame's to various sizes of channel iron frames. Buy a bigger trailer than what you think you need, or after the first time or two you use it you will wish it was bigger. As the saying goes, trailers and garages are alway 2' too...

Kevin,
I have an O with the PTO on it, but it is in the right front corner of the shed and I can't get to it to measure it. I will be getting a couple of Cub Cadets out to get ready for Cub-Arama in the next 3 or 4 days and will try to get the measurements for you then, if you can wait that long.

Re: Farmall M

Keep in mind that the 6 volt systems have to have a larger battery cable (2 gage wire) than what is used on 12 v systems, so if the cables have been changed over the years they may have been replaced with the smaller 12V cables, and it will make it crank slower. And just like the Cub Cadets, rust an...
