Re: Winter Snow and Storm Pics

Our first real snowfall of the year. Less than 2 inches. There have been a couple of others but those did not stick around on the ground for long, this one will. DSCN0548.JPG I made my mind up several months ago that I'm all done commuting in the middle of the night in the Winter. Too many close call...

Re: original wiring

Joe, I don't know if Mike LaMar is still making them or not but I testify his harnesses are faithful reproductions that are clearly marked and priced right. His contact information is listed in the Our Vendor Parts New and Used. You will find it located toward the bottom of the page. An outstanding ...

Re: Ham and CB chatter

I put this unit up on the bench today. The first thing that I noticed was every single tube had been replaced. The 5Y3 rectifier and 6K6 audio output tested weak but all the others are well up into the green zone. I installed them all back in. Rectifiers and audio output tubes generally work or not ...

Winter is getting closer with each passing day and it's time to start thinking about moving indoor projects up onto the bench. This lump is next in line. Re: Cub 70 clutch teaser spring, broke again

Charlie, a new teaser spring in it's totally relaxed state will measure around .475 across. In it's totally compressed state it will measure around .325. You will note in my sketch I allowed around .030 shy of complete crush, this is reflected by the .360- .350 dimension. Keep in mind that when stac...

Thank you Mike. But it's all right. Like Tom mentioned they can still be had. I just had to pony up some more for them that's all- I ordered three.
Just hang onto the one you have, it just may come in handy one day

Re: And I came home with two dollars

It's a nice hitch. Extreme carries them. Charlie does too. I use the cheapie Wally World Super Tech spray can stuff. It's pretty darn good. Tom, yes I was thinking about doing that. I checked every thread first and they were ALL intact. If just one had been stripped out I would have done that. I was...

Joe, I really have my doubts that 60 year old Prog die has been run any time in the last twenty years. Guys that built and serviced tooling like that are retiring by the thousands every single day. Soon no one will have a clue. You snooze you loose. Tom, I saw your post last night at work while on m...

Thank you Tom. That's good thinking.
Prices are all over the place on that clip but they are still out there.
The little tang at the right end is prone to break off from what I've seen.

NLA part

Does anyone have a source for this? Not the best design ever, the retaining ear tends to break off over time or the clip may just fall off no matter how firmly I think I have it installed.

I picked up this dual purpose hitch on line. It's very nicely made and well thought out. DSCN0504.JPG Now I can pull around my wagon or move my 5 X 8 trailer if need be. I'm glad tat I was able to track down those 12-24 self tapping bolts too- those threads in the frame were all in good shape and it...

Funny Farm was filmed in Townshead, VT. fifteen miles from my home. The movie set called for a gazebo on the village green and they built one just for the movie. It remains there till this day. Re: And I came home with two dollars

All I want to do is wrap up the few remaining details on this project and put this thing to bed for the Winter turn key ready for Spring mowing but noo- I had a bad time getting the front PTO on, it would have been so much nicer to work on when the engine was up on the bench but I was lacking the pa...

Re: #1 wagon

I probably should have taken a bit more time and thought about this a little better. In the end it did not matter anyway. I did not like the way the tongue was resting on the hitch plate. I decided to add on a extended length. It fits inside the tongue like a glove. The tongue is now sandwiched toge...

Well I have this old wagon rolling around on it's own two feet now. Pretty good too. DSCN0456.JPG I'll never know why somebody did this. They look like snow thrower wheels maybe.
