I got notifications of private messages from Dag and Tom both saying “hi”
Seems odd, even for Dag.

Sounds like success.

Joe,
You need “small engine mechanic” from YouTube.
That guy is in your neck of the woods and works on those for a living.

Re: 129 =Time for a new Engine
As much as it pains me……Dag makes a good point.
Wide frame were built for the engine to set down in between the frame rails where as the 82 series and newer had lowered rails so the engine went over the top.
Trying to fit an opposed twin in a wide frame, while possible, is going to be a tough fit.

Re: Lumber shortage
I have been at a Menards and a Lowe’s and both had a large number of units of treated lumber.
This time last year I needed to replace a small section deck hand rail and had to use some salvage material as 5/4 decking was all but nonexistent.

Actually it’s ok there because I can’t push and steer at the same time.
The good thing is that I knew right away, when it dropped the power wire got pulled into the grass screen and then lopped off.

Dag, I watched that just before I saw your post. I am really close to being able to actually use my rusty old bitch, I just need SWMBO to give me a little time in the shop. I really want to start in on the newer unit I bought. I have not worked on a Command before but think it will be much easier th...

Re: Plow days?
In my case my interests have changed. I still have a 4 Cubs but the gathering, collecting, working on and selling has slowed significantly. I use the 2072 a handful of times a year and mow/pick up leaves with the 125. The 100 has set for at least 5 years and the 126 longer. I simply have less Cub ne...

Two things I would check are cleanliness of the connections and the air gap of the PTO.

Hey pal when you get curly maple and nice pieces of pear you don’t squander them. I just happen to be moving one and it decided to spear my minty fresh pan cover.

Re: Seat on a 147
Charlie, I needed a seat for another project and had a decent pan and some covers I bought at a swap meet many years ago. I had never put one of those covers on so I called a friend that does upholstery and she said to use a heat gun. I was a little nervous but I did and it worked great! You just ne...

Re: My quietline
Ok you too!
I have a cage for it. It's a bear enough to work on topless let alone having the cage on it. It is a factory add on cage and not very ergonomic. I will likely build a more user friendly cage after I get it usable.
NOW, let's get back to the Quietline that's not getting restored!

Re: My latest project
Ground speed is controlled by a hydraulically operated Reeves drive. Of course being it’s a 1963 model the drive sheave is no longer supported and then I found this, 30DBB23B-8AB3-4934-92BD-17EEFC804BA1.jpeg But being part of a group very similar to this one I was able to secure a good used sheave. ...
