Re: Cub Cadet 147
Welcome Paul. Thanks for posting. I would love to see some pictures of your 147. I have been loosely looking for one for years. I basically have one...but those extra 2 horses over my 127 would make all the difference I don't know why..lol. I do think the electric lift would be fun... although probl...

Re: What I did with my tractor today! (Pic heavy please!)
Hey ..good to hear the 2072 is still alive and kicking! For the past 5 years I wasn't able to take a week off mowing....this year is different. My grass is burning up. I haven't mowed in probably 4 weeks. It's years like this I wished I spread a few more inches of topsoil around my house  Good...

Re: 550 lb Capacity Hydraulic Tractor Lift
63298_W3.jpg Just wondering if this is similar to what you are looking at? These are ok. I got one from a friend for supper cheap and it was a screw jack, that aspect of it made it basically unusable in my opinion. I did hook an impact wrench to it one time but didn't care for that either. It just ...

Re: 550 lb Capacity Hydraulic Tractor Lift
That's sounds pretty neat. Some pictures of the unit would be nice. Those kinds of things can be great for cleaning and maintenance but when you start talking about the mower deck maintenance sometimes they can get in the way if it has a big platform. Deck cleaning is best when you pick up from one ...

Re: Finally on display
The self propelled were nice. As a kid we had several and one was maybe called a "deluxe" with the self propelled. They were good machines, and while I loved the fact it was a two stroke engine that was ultimately it's ending for me. Like I said...dad had a couple of them growing up. So when I got m...

That's cool. I keep a look out for one of those as well. I grew up with lawn boys. Are those push mowers made by lawn boy? For some reason I thought they were. Looks great up there!

Oh man... this is right up my alley. I have found rustoleum almond is almost a dead ringer for the original cub cadet 935 white. Tons of whites out there but none will be closer than the almond. You could paint it like ken did his single stage a few years back. . I think it was black, orange, maybe ...

Re: Sad, but exciting day
Oh...I almost forgot. My first big tractor I ever drove was a cub 154 or 185?. And....my first pickup was a 1980 f150... with the"ranger" trim package. I think I bought that in 87 for $2700. Fixed that up till it was perfect then sold it for an 86 f250 diesel. Yeah they called me diesel Dave for a f...

Man that's quite a story. The value of said items is in the eyes of the beholder... so if your happy you now own a scout that's great. Make sure to post some pictures of the good angles....lol... not the sides with the excessive rust and dents.
Thanks for sharing and looking forward to some pics.

Mumbo jumbo post...
Big Mike.... what's wrong with the post. Why are you so afraid. See in today's world we need to have diversity and inclusion. These are the qualities of a well rounded person. I for one don't identify as a person. I like to be called a machine. I'm not even a male ..I'm just a machine! So get used t...

So I started the 1872 for the first time this past Thursday and mowed a few high spots. This week I will need to get after the whole 9 yards here. While I was changing a few of the cars oil today I figured I better do this one too. So much for a factory cub cadet oil change. Yes that's John Deere ye...

Yes..I know about white pines! My parents have a stand of them 100 feet long, and man are they brittle. I was just over last week cutting up some of the winter casualties. Chipper looks great and I would consider one if it was a few years ago, but their years..or months are numbered there. It will b...

Wow you know the whole story. Thanks that is interesting stuff.
I guess someone high up really wanted to go all different directions with the company. From implements and tractors.... heavy equipment...then guns and refrigerator...cars and lawnmowers. When you say it like that ..no wonder they fell.

Lol. Yes filling the engine sheet metal could be a problem. I'm just imagining a young person with one of the new battery operated grease guns just standing there unloading a cartridge saying.." I don't see were this goes but it must need more" Paul yeah you found it alright. There's only one ...

Ok thanks. If you had to describe this lube, does it smell or feel like any other off the shelf grease? I guess the key to using a grease is keeping dirt out so it doesn't get dry or gummy. Just thinking out loud and using newer heavy equipment technology. I wonder if possible to make a remote zerk ...

Good to hear you got it all fixed up! You mentioned you lubed the starter Bendix. Just wondering what you used for that? I did graphite one time and my results were so so. I know I will try to start my rig here soon...and unless the battery is tip top and above 75 degrees the starter acts funny. It ...

Yes LEDs have their place but they can look and feel funny. I have been installing many led high bay lights at a factory and man is it harsh! They are probably in the 5000-6000 color. Ouch. So the first aid kit at home gets tossed around as it doesn't have a good home and Tom wasn't far off. But I s...

I thought I would piggy back this on here because it deals with the shop. I have wanted a light for a long time. I looked at a lot of different fancy lights....but decided on 40 watts of old school. I made the wiring look as factory as possible by tieing into the switch back. IMG_20220319_163931776....

Looks like a good project. I would recommend while you are in that deep check your valve clearance. As they wear they sink into the head and your valve gap gets too tight. I'm not an expert on this but it's not too difficult to adjust.

Wow...you did good for a thousand!! The ones I looked at were a couple grand. Yes that engine runs amazing. It has very unique sound. I mowed with one as a teenager for a few years. Here's what's crazy and correct me on this...but i think it's rated at like 15 or something horse power. I remember it...
