Re: Turbo Diesel
I was putting the transmission back together and found another problem. The top shaft is twisted and won't let the 2-3 gear slide all the way forward. I put in a call to Lakota Racing and I should have a better one tomorow. This was supposed to be a hardened shaft but apparently it wasn't hardened e...

Re: Solenoid or ignition
On a QL the problem could also be in the pto switch or the brake pedal safety switch.

Re: 5 millionth
Yeah, I don't see a hydro speed control lever on the left, and it looks like there is one on the right. There is no gear drive shifter so it has to be a hydro. My red 149 has a few QL parts to help make it look like a 66 series. I wasn't aware that the later WFs had the serial # tag on the frame. I ...

Re: quiet line engine cradle
Ken,
The easiest way to do it is to bolt the rails to a spare oil pan to keep them properly aligned. Then weld a piece of 1/4" x 1" flat bar to the top of the rails just ahead of the oil pan. If you want to put a rear bar on, you have to bend it in an arc to go under the blower housing.

Re: 5 millionth
Could be a combination of WF and QL parts. The frame is QL because of the serial # tag location.
The lower grill is from a 1X8 or 1X9.

Re: Cast iron rear swap
Matt, I would use the brake pivot and linkage that is mounted on the frame. I don't know what to say about the internal brakes. Since they are pretty easy to find, I would just use an external brake rear instead if you want to use the external brakes. If you decide to keep the rear you have now, I w...

Re: Turbo Diesel
Right now the pump and injectors are totally stock. I lightened the governor weights and removed the stop so it can stretch the spring as hard as possible. The stock pump can be reworked, but I'm looking into putting a Bosch A series pump on it. An A pump would give me all the fuel I would ever need...

Re: Turbo Diesel
Frank, I am using water injection but no intercooler or aftercooler. I have added another nozzle to put more water in for the next pull. From what I have been learning, diesels don't get hot from being lean like a spark ignition engine does. Since they are throttled by fuel rather than air, they jus...

Re: Turbo Diesel
Frank, The stock pump is turned up as much as it can be. The next step for that will be a different pump or having this one reworked. First I need to make the rearend hold up. It does have an aftermarket top shaft and much heavier bearings and bearing holders on both shafts. It is a cast iron housin...

If possible, I would say at least 800x600. I believe that was the limit before. That allows plenty of detail witout making the page too wide for some monitors.
although that may not be an issue if they show up as thumbnails.

Turbo Diesel
Here is a pic of my newly built Turbo Diesel. Some of you may remember me working on it on the old site.
It is an 1806 with a D-1105 28 hp Kubota engine. The rear axle is from an Original with axles and housings from a
Cyclops model.
