Re: Loader questions
I am in the process of building a pf loader for my 129. I have a set of the plans here, the plans call for a pump in the 4-8 gpm range, and cylinders are 2X16. I also plan to add a tank behind the seat. I am going to use a dual spool valve from a 1450 for the controls.

I quit another forum because it was not very friendly, I like it here better. But sometimes I feel like an outsider because of the distance from the other members, and that I will probably never to meet the other forum members in person.

Standby Generator
There has been some bad weather events in the last year, for some of the forum members, so I thought post some pictures of my Standby generator. This is a 15/16kW Generic Unit 15kW on Nat gas and 16kW on Propane. I bought after we had a few to many power outages. If some of you live in areas where y...

Re: Kubota D600 ?'s
The rings may just be stuck or have lost their tension. I have seen Diesels with stuck rings and was able to reuse the pistons. A lot of this is caused by not warming it up and running it hard enough. I even had one motor somebody had ran Gasoline in it, It shook to bad I thought the motor mounts we...

Re: Kubota D600 ?'s
Most Diesel pistons I have seen will have a Stainless Steel plate in the head of the piston, it is located in the area of the top ring groove. If you decided to reuse the pistons and clean the grooves out, you should be able to see this plate in the top ring groove. Don't be alarmed if you see this,...

Re: cub cadet 1782 diesel
The problem with removing the thermostat is that the water flows to fast through the radiator, and doesn't have time to remove the heat. This is the reason the motor will run hotter without the thermostat installed. I have seen flow restrictors on heater hoses before to increase the heater output.

I have stripped a little bit of coal, I used to work at a Limestore Quarry, we had a 6" layer of coal between the Limestone, so we stripped it when we had a buyer for it. For us it was overburden, so we had reason to remove it.

I would be more worried of burning up the glow plugs and having them break off and drop into the cylinder. I have seen this more than once. I have even seen them got caught under a valve and bend the valve. All my experience with glow plugs has not been good. When I was driving my Olds Diesel I had ...

What is the correct length for the rod that raises the Snow Thrower? I have a 129 and the arm is all the way back and the thrower is still on the ground.
The rod I have is 28" long.

When I added the electric lift to my 129 I left the manual handle on the side. I use it to help judge how far down I have lowered the lift.

White smoke on a Diesel, also means Low Compression, it will normally clean up as the motor warms up. Ever see a 400 Cummins start in the morning? When Cummins increases the HP they drop the compression, the 400 is around 13:1 as compared to 16:1, every 400 Cummins I have seen will blow white smoke ...

I would run it then. No need to tear it down and spend a bunch of money on it. I knew of one Series 60 Detroit Diesel that ran over a million miles with nothing than a replaced head gasket at around 900,000. With proper care it should wear the tractor out first.

Is it hard starting? Does it blow smoke when you start it? And what color is the smoke?
What other problems do you see with it.

Re: Is there a Differance between Hy-Trans and other Hydro F
The advantage to Hy-Trans is it's ability to collect and hold water. Since this is just really a pump any light oil should work. Where i used to work we changed from Hydro oil and C4 (Allison Transmissions) to 10wt motor oil. We were a bit worried about running it in our Allison's because they have ...
