Re: 70 Stuck in Reverse
I had that problem occur with my 100 many years back. Removing the shifter cover revealed that the bolt for the first reverse shifter fork had backed itself out. By replacing the lock washer and installing the bolt back in the issue was solved. Do not attempt to drive the machine forward under power...

Well not a whole lot yet but it's coming down pretty good out there, about 3 to 4 so far so I'm using the blade. It's powder. Can't see putting the seat back on the 126 till I really need that one At least the ground is good and frozen. DSCN1405.JPG The big problem is my clutch foot is really bother...

Re: Snow Thrower question
I agree with Mike. Others have reported lifting travel issues in the past because the wrong lift rod was being used, if I'm not mistaken there were at least 3 lengths made. I wanted to counter that issue and was looking for more than a chain. A length of black pipe with bungs welded into both ends a...

We are learning the hard way that while pretty photo shoots of your dog or cat hanging out underneath the Christmas tree is cute it can turn into dangerous or fatal results. While Tommy here got his jollies every year playing with the stuff hanging from the tree we had no idea he had been chewing on...

Re: Another 100
That's a nice find Lewis ;) When I came home with my 100 it too had a stuck exhaust valve. Spraying it with Liquid Wrench from inside of the valve margin and working it up and down at first with the rubber mallet and then by rotating the crank shaft got it moving again nicely in a couple of minutes....

Just an opinion on my part but I feel that the game days of the seller holding out for top dollar over a common model ended in 2008. More and more folks are leaning toward the throw away zero turns and don't care about them- if it' means a lot to him then he can keep it as far as I'm concerned. And ...

Vince, If you look at the photo of the before pic with the bowl off you can make out that the groove where the square rubber ring sets the groove is packed with yellow powder residue. It was not leaking at all. Also, I checked the float close off setting before taking it apart- it was way too high a...

I have a nasty little sinus cold right now but somehow I don't think the gasoline smells right even though it was recently topped off.
I removed the spark plug- this is an Autolite 216 with one hour run time on it What to you guys think about it?

So what would cause my 126 to belch black smoke, backfire inside the muffler and generally be a royal pain in the neck to cold startup? Todd is correct, the cast iron end plate ran a 17mm (.669) bearing. The aluminum end plate ran a .500 bushing.
If you are searching for a new old stock here is what to look for- These can be very hard to find however it's possible that you could- good luck.

Well, there are some sizes that Miller does not carry. I have been looking for replacement 8.5 x 15's in an ag pattern for a long time now. I have seen these on other machines but can't recall what kind it was, and those were in worse shape than the ones I have now (and these are pretty bad too- the...

One other thing I neglected to mention, I swear we had nothing to do with this  DSCN1223.JPG I guess a pallet ton of pellets, two passengers, and a tool compartment full of stuff (roughly about 2600 ponds in a half ton) were too much for it :? Clutch disc failure
Just wondering if any of you have ever seen a clutch disc failure like this before, I myself have not. My Son was heading up the long hill at the base of Mt. Ascutney on I-91 South and made an overdrive to fourth downshift to pull the grade. The truck had a very heavy load on at the time. Edit that,...

Joey, No. For your application do not attach any wire to any terminal on the regulator marked L, (LOAD). That application is for the O, 70-100 series only. Terminal locations vary greatly from unit to unit!!! Read and follow the instruction card chart supplied in the box. Wire mounting locations- Ye...

Re: 126 cub cadet
The NAPA VR 896 is a direct replacement part. I have had very good luck with one for over 25 years. It is suitable for both the 3 and 4 terminal applications. Last I knew, the buyer needed to state if he wanted an import or the USA made version as both carry the same part number. 497977.jpg However,...

Not taken that way at all Craig- They can be had in stainless steel as well however given the marginal combustion chamber clearances in these engines that's probably not a good idea should one ever work itself loose or snap off which is probably why they were made of brass to begin with.
