1772 lift problem
It seems (and I am not sure why or what changed becaused everything was working fine) that my lift lever is now hitting the upper edge of the opening in the dash not allowing the linkage enough travel to push the valve in to move the cylinder. I tried to move the valve up on the steering column but ...

Re: Diesel won't start
Finally found out why 1572 would not start. It seems the valves are worn and does not allow for enough compression. The head is at the machine shop now. I am just waiting to see what the cost for valve job will be. I am guessing not cheap. I am hopeing to have it back for the PA plow day. I was look...

Re: diesel vs gas tractor value
There may be a differance in price depending where you are located. I have seen this 1872 go for $2000, another 1872 with deck go for $2175, a 982 with rear pto, 3pnt and deck for $2625 and another rougher 1872 with deck for $1800. The guy that bought the one for $2000 drove 3hrs and paid full price...

diesel vs gas tractor value
Recently a very very nice 1872 was for sale near me. It was one of the nicest I ever saw. It sold in less than 24hrs for full price $2000. No 3pnt, rear pto or deck just tractor. This got me thinking what would an equally equipped and conditioned 1572 or 1772 be worth. I have been told a diesel is wo...

Re: 1772 temp gauge
Dave never got a chance to get compression tested. Tractor is on trailer ready to go but with all the snow I have not had time to get it looked at. ( I have been plowing ). I also bought this 1772 and have been working on it. I plan on getting it looked at soon so I am ready for up coming plow day. ...

1772 coolant
I was topping off the radiator today and did not remember I had stored some hydro fluid in an old antifreeze jug. I poured probably 1/2 to an oz of hydro fluid into the radiator before I realized I had the wrong jug. How big a deal is this?

1772 temp gauge
Anybody know of any good replacement for the temp gauge on a 1772. Kubota still offers one but they want $130. I can't find where the probe is on the engine if there is a probe. From looking at a wireing diagram there is non.

Next I had engine adapter plate made. Non to be found. Cost for plate $50. Took a drive shaft from a cy...

Re: steering slop on a super
I was just looking at the steering. What I noticed . With the steering wheel off I can grab the stud and turn it back and forth about a 1\4 turn. At each end point it has a hard stop as it slams into something in the column which sounds to be behind the gas tank. Everything up front seems ok. There ...

steering slop on a super
I just picked up another 1872 and I see it has about a 1\4 turn of the wheel before the front axel starts to move. I have read the other threads about steering slop but they were not for tractors with power steering. It seems to me the movement is in the column. any help appreciated.
