Congratulations! That is sweet!
I'm looking for a shredder for my 123.
Not that I really need it, but making coleslaw will be WAY faster! ;)

Yes, spring is just around the corner! (That's what I tell myself as I cry myself to sleep these days lol ). Glad you liked the photos Tom. I checked out the thread you suggested, and I thought about making those same changes myself. I find the scraper works fine as it is for loose material, like th...

Not today, but what the heck, who couldn't use a little IH power: me pulling out old junipers, cement deck footings, and some scraper work.
Enjoy!

Re: QA-36 Restore Part I: Gear Box and Mount

My pleasure!
Went out and blew snow again, as we're really getting socked right now.
Worked like a charm! (Until the new ignition coil I had installed suddenly died and left me stranded in the middle of the road.
And then it snowed harder! lol)

QA-36 Restore Part I: Gear Box and Mount

So I found that the backlash in my angle box was too much and decided to tear it apart to see what was going on. Upon inspection, the gears were starting to wiggle back and forth on the shafts, so I decided to address it before any gear damage occurred. I bought new input and output shafts and keys,...

Re: Manual PTO Clutch Rebuild and Set Screw Removal Tips

Those are some excellent points. It's definitely something to walk away from when they're being stubborn, and for what new Allen keys cost, well worth preventing the aggravation. In addition, using new set screws (which I did) and putting a little blue loctite or nev-r-seize on is some good insuranc...

The V-Bar?! I thought they closed that place down after all of those strippers came down with the Clap! ;) lol Thanks for the input guys. Re: Manual PTO Clutch Rebuild and Set Screw Removal Tips

Thanks! Yeah it's kinda weird; that little bit of pressure makes all the difference in my clutch engaging/ disengaging. The starter pulley/clutch basket was new from Kohler and had a lot of paint on it, and then I painted it yellow too, so I'm hoping that once that wears it will allow the friction d...

Manual PTO Clutch Rebuild and Set Screw Removal Tips

Hi Folks, The release fingers on my 123's PTO clutch were worn out, so I decided to rebuild it. I had a parts clutch assembly and with a few new parts, I made one good one from the two. I like the overall design. I think it's cool that it's an actual clutch. But there is one big drawback as they get...

Re: Attachments: Spike Aerator and lift

Hey, thanks! I hear ya. I would have preferred the plug style, but this aerator was on sale so I couldn't pass it up. (It was about half price). I over seed every year, so it should work well with that.
I checked out both links, and well done! I love to see people's creativity!

Re: Winter Snow and Storm Pics

Thanks for the input Tom. Makes perfect sense. The only concern I have yet is how my paved driveway will hold up. I guess it depends how much air pressure I would be running and how I work the speed control lever (e.g. more spinning = more potential damage.) Have you heard of anyone having success w...

Re: Winter Snow and Storm Pics

Yes, it is hard to find the space. If only I few extra feet on each side of the driveway. But with the blower I can pile it up at least, as long as we don't get hit by another storm soon. The pile down my the road is almost 4' high. A dozer blade would be fun too, but I just don't have anywhere to p...

Re: Winter Snow and Storm Pics

Here are my pics of 2022's Class III Kill Storm. We had ~40 cm in less than 12 hours. It was a whopper for us. The 123 and the QA-36 (with freshly rebuilt gearbox) performed well with the exception of traction. I had a helluva time backing up my drive way. The Carlisle ag tires just didn't cut it on...

Re: Reference resource collections?

Hmm...good question. I don't have any good specific ideas unfortunately. It takes people to take the time to catalogue stuff, and then share it, so it would take the right individuals on both ends. Plus there can be issues with sharing and publishing stuff (e.g. costs, copyrights, etc.) I'm a newbie...
