Metal seat parts color for IH Farmall 140.

Post by genep »

I am restoring the seat frame on my IH Farmall 140 tractor and have seen it shown in most photos as being painted black. However some have shown it red. I like the look of the red after the redone black seat and backrest cushions are in place. Does anyone know if red or black is correct, and what's the fine by the correctness police if I go with the 2150 red?

Gene,
I can't answer your question directly but since they made the 140 for almost 20 years it may depend on when it was built. My guess would be that the early ones would be red and the later ones black.

Thanks Todd. This is such a small detail that I am going the way and look that I like - gloss black with 2150 red arms and backrest metal support.
