How far down do you guys compress your red springs? Danny said he heard something go POW and no brake petal. Heres what I found. This time I didnt compress it as far, 5 1/2 inches. Last time I think I did like 4 1/2 inches.

TIA Vince

I'm pretty sure I went 4-1/2" on my yellow spring on the diesel.

Ok I had remember you talking about it at a plow day, so I was right in remembering it. I just took it out of the shop and Im still doing wheelies in 3rd with no problems, so I guess Ill leave it here. Its easier to push, not much, and Vince like it. So we will see how it dose pulling a plow.

Thanks Todd.

Quality MTD

I was trying to find something else, but I havent had any luck. A friend up in Charlotte uses a thrust berring, but he hasnt called me with the part number. Hes running a yellow spring, its help up for 3 yrs.

You know something else I should be using? Its just a plow tractor, but I really like the strenght of this tractor.

I use the T/O bearing zach kerber sells. Really nice and half the price. Allows clutch pedal to push very smooth.

That is the Cub Cadet 582 design. It is just a ball bearing on a steel sleeve.

Yeah there like the 82 bearing. But alot less money. I dont have a lathe to make a sleeve. I know they work well and are good quality for the cost.

When you say a sleve, you mean there needs to be something else that needs to go between the bering and the clutch arm?

Forgive me but this is all new to me.
