Fawn Grove Olde Tyme Days

Post by stevet »

Just thought for anyone in the central MD and southeastern PA area that might be interested, the Citizens Vol. Fire Co. will be holding their Olde Tyme Days from Friday, July 10th through Sunday, July 12th. There will be lots of antique farm tractors, garden tractors, hit and miss engines, tractor pulls, live music and plenty of food! Not to mention, Albie Breidenbaugh and myself will be there! I'll have a few of my Cubs along with my Farmall M there for the weekend. Olde Tyme Days is located at Fawn Grove Park, 110 N Market St, Fawn Grove, PA. Stop by and say hi if you're in the area!

Thanks Steve! Make sure u get some good pics. This does sound like a fun time! I can't make it .....but I'm sure Tom scott can as he has been saying he wants to get out of house work and hit a tractor show or two. I'm sure the laundry can wait Tom!

Just getting time to circle back to this dag slapdown...

Steve, I would have loved to hang out and meet you, but I am actually full swing into firewood, running late as usual for the coming winter's wood. I have pics of Dave in his apron getting bossed around in the kitchen, but at least his garage is the safe zone, no wife bossing there! :lol:

Fire wood in July!!!!! To hot for such events! This needs to happen in late September through the first snow! Remember burring fire wood will keep you warm several times, when you cut when you stack when you split and the part Moma likes best when it burns!

July is really later than I want to be, need time for wood to season. Burning unseasoned wood is not good. I am now working with stuff that has been down for awhile and won't be needed until late winter.

Dave posted the playset I let him work with when he shows up to "help". Here is today's real haul, six cart loads split today. Pretty good day, just not enough time to finish out the rack. Topped out the one behind it yesterday.

I actually did go to the Md. Line show last year! It was late in the day, hardly anyone left there. There was someone with a GT on the pulling sled playing around. Testing my memory here, but it was something like a gray colored Sears Suburban or something like that with a two cylinder diesel he had adapted. Seemed to be pulling pretty good!

Tempting to take my loader 2182 and hook it to the sled, but just too many things undone here to take that time out. But...I might take time to stop by. I am pretty close to Md. Line, not much excuse for me not at least taking a look.

Maybe start a thread on it if you know the details.

Yea Tom...hook up to the sled! You know how to rebuild rears pretty quick now, but can u fix the drive shaft when it looks like a "twizzler", or when u "un" spline the splined couplers, or when your cheap ladder bars dont do as intended! Hook up... I double dog dare U :lol:

dag = dream-killer!

Ok, I did consider that I could break something, but it was just easier to say "I don't have time to take the tractor"... Now you have called me out for the sissy I am! :lol:
