Home made scarifier - would it work?

Here's where you can post your Cub Cadet based specials. Actually, if it's cool and not Cub based, post it anyway!

Home made scarifier - would it work?

Post by Grant »

So I'm thinking about building a scarifier for the sleeve hitch. If I weld a sleeve hitch U yoke to a 2" square sign post (cut to 48") and slip 12" long spikes through the holes and either weld or clamp them with a top flat bar that's bolted down would it work to 'till' my garden? Strong enough to scarify my dirt driveway?

I'm just theorizing here, but it seems like it would be easy and pretty fun.

You may have to play with angles or add weight, But I don't see why it wouldn't work! I'm in the middle of making a rear mount box blade, and have robbed 7 or 8 teeth from an old harrow that was in the junk to use for a removable scarifier.
