New "Little" IH 1066

Hi all, it' been 5 weeks in the process, but here's the newest "little" tractor. This makes 10 so far, and there aren't any duplicates yet...

This tractor is based on a late '60's Cub Cadet 124. The whole front end is steel, the side hood panels are aluminum with a steel panel in the center.

John, these are the weights I use. I grind the "Midwest Super Cub" off, prime and paint them, then install a vinyl IH logo on them...

Is that grill shell all made from (looks like 1/2") solid bar stock?

Yes the grill is made from 1/2 inch bar stock. The outer rectangle, and vertical pieces are 1/2" x 3/4" deep, and the "rear" horizontal pieces are 1/2" x 3/8" deep.

I was actually talking about the outer grill shell. Looks like maybe like 1/2x2 for the lower and maybe 1/2x2-1/2 for the upper?

Nice work! What do you use to bend them? I can see where that would end up being pretty heavy. But maybe to much heavier than a stock NF grille.

Thanks, I start with 3.5" x 1/2" and cut the shapes out of it. I can't remember off hand what they are, roughly 1/2 scale to the real one. I measured my Dad's 186 HYDRO which has the same nose as the '66 series. You are correct the lower section is 2" x 1/2". It probably weighs about as much as the cast unit I removed.

On the '66 series, I don't bend the parts, I weld them, then grind the radius. On the '06, '56 I use a torch to bend them around a jig.

Sorry it took so long to post this. I've been working on the Wheatland a lot, I want to have it done by the end of the month.

The dash is made of the same material as the fenders. It is mounted with the original dash mounts as the Cab Cadet dash. I also mounted the top of it to the center rib of the hood.
