Setting up your profile

Post by Scott C. »

Let's try to be as complete as possible.
Fill out your profile as complete as you can so others can see what you're up to.
Also, make sure you set things like the time zone, it helps when you look at posting times.
A space for your name has been included in your profile, please fill that in, new users from this point on will be required upon signing up.

Bogus names will not be acceptable and will be denied.

Keith and all

If you click on "user control panel" at the top of the screen just under "board index"
there you will find a few tabs with "profile" being one of them and it will allow you to change a few things and add an avatar photo etc.

Your photos for your avatar must be less then 8k and 120x120 or smaller

Clicking on the envelope under the members name will open a new email in your default email app.... i think it would be nice to show the actual email in the profile for those that use a web based email program

Scott,
How do we get this so we can click on the profile and get a persons email to contact them off site.

John,
I believe that's a setting under your profile. From what I can tell people are setting their profiles up so that you cannot send them email. If you go to your profile under "Board Preferences" you see the first line says "Users can contact me by e-mail:" with a yes or no checkbox.

Unless there is a global setting for the site that's overriding it...

John,
It looks like they made a change today that allowed emails to be sent. It's working!
