Hello been a lurker for a while on this site and finally chiming in. Im getting ready to start a restore on a 100 I picked up a year ago. Someone added a custom hydraulic lift setup that didnt work to well. Guy I got it from said kept burning up the power steering pump he was using. I have other cubs too, 2 61 originals, a 73 and a 104. also have a few other brands too, but my first love is the cub cadet narrow frames.

Phil, Welcome! Sounds like you got a pretty good collection going. Feel free to post away, glad to have you.
My first thought on the hydro lift gone bad is that perhaps they didn't use an open center valve so the power steering pump is deadheading against the closed valve most of the time. Just a wild guess...
If you dig into it, that would be a good thread right there!
