New to the club
I'd like to post a picture. I'll have to figure out how to do that. Thanks for having me.

Re: New to the club
Don - Welcome! Actually, that is not an old Cub for us, that is on the "newer" end of what we deal with.
1864 is a great machine, a true GT (garden tractor). The Cub world affectionately knows those machines as the "Cyclops" series due to the single headlight lens.
Stop on over at the "CCC and MTD Built..." sub-forum and check out topics that are already there. Ask away with any questions in that sub-forum, it is the right place for your machine.
Again, Welcome!

Welcome Don! Fuel..spark..or compression. I hear electrical connections r a weak spot on those. Lots of safeties on there that can cause a no spark. Water in fuel is a big one. See if u can get it to caugh on some fuel or starting fluid right into the carb. Have fun! Dave

Welcome aboard Don. Nice 1864. You can find the owners manual, service manual and more on here.
As Dave stated there are a few known areas in the electrical system that can cause them to not run. The primary ones are the connector on the back of the starting switch and the main harness plug. Not hard to deal with but they can cause interesting issues. Ask away in the CCC/MTD area and the crew here will see what answers they can come up with...
