New guy from upstate NY

Post by davis2 »

Hi everybody, my name is Dave. I have a 782 with a 44" deck, and I believe a 451 blower. The blower is new to me, I liberated it from my brother's rustyard. He had it on his 782, but the tractor has terminal hydro leaks. I'm still working out the bugs, but it improves every time I use it.

Dave - Welcome!

Check out this link in our "CCC" forum concerning the blower: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6684

Long story short, you should be using a 450, not a 451. The thread in the link above will explain.

Anyway, good to have you!

Actually I did see that post before I joined. I wasn't sure what I had, but figured someone who knew more than I do would set me straight... Thank you. There were no tags, stamps,or anything on the blower. I actually narrowed it down by looking at pictures. Anyway, it works well. It sat for about 3 years after my brother's 782 hydraulics let loose.

Hey Tom, what would be the best way to find out if anyone here has a spare 50c deck for my buddy's 1541?

I'll take some. I'm still working the bugs out of the blower. It has been working well though. Is White Hall anywhere near Hagerstown? There was a sign on American Pickers that was originally in White Hall... :D

Hagerstown is about an 1 1/2 hours west of me. I haven't watched that show in a while, but they do find some interesting stuff out there!

My bro in law used to live in Hagerstown. Now he lives in Martinsburg WVa. We visit a couple times per year. My wife has considered transferring to the Hood plant in Winchester. My pics are toob ig to post, I'll have to try to resize them...

Ah, Martinsburg isn't too far away either, about the same distance. I've actually been to that area quite a few times. Very close to the historic Harpers Ferry area. Always like visiting the Civil War areas like that.

I'd like to visit some of those sites. We have a standing invitation to his house. Who knows, Mama may decide to try transferring to Winchester... Maybe I'll bring my Cub down...

Thanks,John. You got any snow up there? I'm between Utica and Syracuse, but a bit north. The lake effect is playing keep away with the snow now that I have a good blower on the tractor...
