UPGRADE TIME

Post by Dave C »

Hi folks,

I have been preparing to upgrade the forum software for quite some time.

We have quite a few Modifcations that i would like to be sure would still work after the upgrade.

In the meantime i think our server forced some new changed to our PHP and we have some sparse errors here and there that i cant seem to fix. So my hand is forced to upgrade. This will also save money as the new software is compatible with the current PHP 7.3

In a perfect world i will do the upgrade on Monday and Tuesday, the board may be unavailable at times.

Things will look SUBSTANTIALLY DIFFERENT for some time, colors etc.

ALOT of features will be unavailable for some time as i migrate files and settings, IE Downloads and Gallery

SOME features wont return, im not certain there is a Chat feature for the new software available yet.

Please be patient. thanks

Dave, you're doing great. You've gotten a lot done in just a few days. Sorry I can't help more, but I'll keep testing features as you toil away!

Yes i finally updated the Colours.css to include some of our favorite colors.... yellow and white.. Still a little tinkering there to do. Anyone having issues not seeing things be sure to purge your browsers cache... or history.

Also i got the site logo back up.

Fixed the thumbnails in the documents section. now when clicked on they open in a nice lightbox window. There was a problem in the new javascript that needed updating.

Cub Cadet FAQ page is back 100 percent now i think. all the links to documents are fixed.

Working on the "recommended links" page we had. but out of the 8 or 10 links we had. only about 3 still work.

So i need links!!! member sites, new parts dealers, used parts dealers. lmk whats out there. just post a link you think we should have.

The stuff from the old Gallery is still there... but the author of that modifacation hasnt quite got it running for 3.3 yet. so soon i think

I dont think ill bring back the CHAT feature. it wasnt used much.

Also the software made some major changes. and i think they have made updateing process easier from here on out.
