Finaly got one!

Post by vince_o »

How about a one owner cub. Saw it on CL last night and took a chance this morning. Randy, AKA hog hunter and I left at 530 and got to the mower shop at 7. Waited for 45 min, the L O N G E S T in my life. I asked the owner if it was still for sale. He said yep had a bunch of calls on it, but no money. Sat out last night in the rain, about 38 deg and started on the second round of heating the plugs. No smoke purrs like a kitten!

Vince
Sounds like a great deal!
Be sure to give everything a once over change all the fluids, the thermostat is a good idea as well, check the bolts for the rear end, as many have said before they like to brake. The starter up-grade and glow plus will get you down to 1 cycle of the glow plugs, Add a 3pt and you will be a star at the next plow day!

Congrats Vince! All your other Cubss will sit now!

Be sure to pull the tunnel cover off and check the drive shaft, couplers, and rag joints. I never did figure out what was going on with mine when I got it. When going over uneven ground the front rag joint would hit the steering column. It was like the frame was flexing. You could stand beside it and pull sideways on the steering wheel and wiggle the whole front of the tractor. All the rearend bolts were tight, but the problem went away when I swapped in the cast iron rear. So I'm guessing the aluminum rear had a crack somewhere.

Todd, Joe Dave

The dieler put new filters in it, hytran in the rear, just a bit dark, new fuel lines, seat, front tire, spindle, and oil. Ill pull the tunnel cover this weekend. But it is so smooth, no vibrations and the deck is a little loud. I aint sweating it.

Thanks guys!

Very nice Vince,I hope you enjoy every minute using it.
Did you get the rear hub caps with it?Looks like it could use a bigger seat with armrest, headrest, and a "carb cleaner" holder.

Nice grab...now all you gotta do is find 3 more and you can catch me.....
782D, 1572, 1572 and 1782.
Tried to sell the 1782 but no luck so I may swap the engine with on eof the 1572's and make it a 1772.

Todd
Al new rag joints in the drive line. Looks like this dealer did a nice job with this trade in. Im gonna change out the filter on the tranny, all others look to be new.

Frank
This was alot closer than yours.

Josh thanks

I mowed with it for about an hour yesterday. I only have a small amount of grass that can be cut right now, so I went to the small pasture down the road. I always make 2 passes along the road so we can walk to see the horses. This time I made alot of passes. I really like it and its so quiet too.
