125 running bad

Post by LEVI »

I just got a Cub Cadet 125 to work on. My problem is it starts hard and stalls under load. It has a sucking sound at the carb, I'm thinking bad valve or head gasket maybe? I'm wondering if that could cause it to stall and start hard both? Thanks in advance.

Levi

If its terrable then a few things need to be done.

1 pull the head and look at the bore to see how much dirt the unit has injested

2nd while you have the head off decarbon it

3rd Call or email chris westfall and get a new bushing, shaft, and kit.

Ill tell you this. My 106 was on its last leg but I got 3 more years of plowing and mowing out of that eng, still using oil like crazy, when I did the shaft and bushing. Made a world of differance. Im doing one now for a guy in Ktown.

The reason I say to check the bore, and You may know this, is cause its on the unfiltered side of the carb and its sucking dirt right into the intake valve. There for its like dumping sand in it.

Just wanted to let you guys know how the 125 turned out. The problem was the gas tank wasn't vented. Runs beautiful now.
