Re: What did you do with your cub today?
I plowed snow with the 105, broke the throttle cable on the 104 just trying to move it from the garage to the barn(wife thinks she needs a car parked in our 3 car garage). I also use the QA 36 snow blower attached to the 149 that i bought from BIGMIke several years ago. I had it all hooked up last year and never got to use it. First time out lost a nut on the tensioner, so have to move it back to the garage and take it back off. I have to say with all the snow lately 3 passes on the main driveway and done is very nice, but i got stuck 3 times due to just having ag tires on an ice covered drive. TIrechains.com will be sending me a new set for the 149 soon. I havent posted for a long time so i thought i would share. I will have to take a few pictures of the 3-6 foot drifts that keep filling the drive way.

Re: What did you do with your cub today?
Last time I had pulling problems with mine it was due to a weak relief valve spring. Didn't notice much until you hooked on something heavy. I noticed it when I went to move a power pole that sets on the edge of the driveway. Never had a problem with the 1641 moving it and went to move it with the 1863 and it would just set and whine. They both have the release valves for towing and I figured that it was stuck a bit (had that happen before) so I just tapped on it. Nice and free. Pulled and swapped the relief valves and it pulled great but didn't want to push backwards. Swapped it with a spare and it was fine.

Steve
Ill try a set of differant valves out of the 2072 and see how they do. My auto valves leak, so I used some manual ones.
Thanks for the help

Yep the one right behind the 1872 is 12 foot and the other is like 9. The other 2 that the 582 pulled were bigger and 14 ft. My friend up the road is making molding out of the cherry for his grandsons room. He has a portable sawmill, hes going to cut my big whit oak for my shop.

Re: What did you do with your cub today?
Had to do it. LOL It's operational as it sits, but will need to be trimmed up a little. Plus it needs to be all welded up. I don't have the best of tools, so it isn't perfect, but I had alot of fun today working on it! And yes, to open the hood all I need to do is lift the pipe straight up. It's a nice tight fit just after the 90 degree bend.

Re: What did you do with your cub today?
Weather was pretty nice so I put new seats on my 582 special & 682 that I picked up from NorthernTool.com on sale @ $49 a piece. They look real nice on the tractors. They're molded polyurethane ( no cover to crack or come off ) over a steel frame, pretty nice I think. Only thing I didn't like is there so called "UNIVERSAL PATTERN MOUNTING PATTERNS" doesn't include Cub Cadet. I Had to take 1 1/2" x 1/8 flat stock & make a couple cross strap's between the seat springs to catch the UNIVERSAL bolt hole's. All'nAll They look prerdy dar'n good onare' ! Nice seat's for a working tractor !!

Re: What did you do with your cub today?
I put a new choke cable on the 126 today, after years of farting around with the old one especially during the cold weather I decided enough was enough.
I ordered the correct replacement and to my surprise that one was 5 inches shorter. This meant that I had to lower the coil by about a half inch and route it across the top of the coil rather than under it's mount bracket as it was but it seems to work fine - vince_o

Re: What did you do with your cub today?
It's been a while since I chimed in so here goes nothin-
I trial mounted the hydro lift pump on my 126 today. I just wanted to make sure everything lined up, the biggest part of the job was getting the drive belt on.
Mounting the lift cylinder and replacement rocker shaft will be projects for another day, right now I still need this one for snow throwing.
The pump runs nice and quiet with no leaks, and I'm thinking about mounting the cylinder externally before actually installing it in place and test it through a few cycle runs first before I commit to the new rocker shaft setup. I chose to use Mobil DTE25 hydro oil which is a high quality ISO46, SAE grade 10 weight hydro oil.
The rear half of the PTO rod was running too close to the belt so I put a tight 10 degree bend in the middle of the rear rod and that solved the issue. There does seem to be a number of close clearance issues going on down in there- I had to screw the rod clevis forward as well to avoid it from striking the pulley. All things considered there's more room on the workbench now for the time being anyway

Re: What did you do with your cub today?
Got all but 2 (1 in pieces and 1 not at the farm) of the Cubs out for a little sunshine and a photo op this weekend. Had to replace the sediment bowl on the 125 (it was vibrating itself shut) and took a little drive around the farm with my wife. Had to bypass the safety switch in the field.

Don't try this with a stock lift rod-
A narrow frame hydro lift will pick one of these machines clean off the ground - vince_o
