Vince owning a Smartphone doesn't make you smarter .
I'm not even smart enough to own one . Next time let one of your boys take the picture , I learned a long time ago that kids know a heck of a lot more about electronics than us old folks do .
Oh by the way.......... Nice Hitch .

Finally got a start on the wife's garden this weekend.
It's obviously gonna need some more work the next coupla weekends. The ground was wetter than I expected.

Re: What did you do with your cub today?
Finally got the haban mounted and adjusted on my multicolor yellow 100 , and took it out for testing .
While it doesn't do well on grass , it sure gives honeysuckle , wild rosebush , grapevines , and locust saplings hell . Which is primarily what I got it for . Cuts anything up to about 1 1/2 inchs across without much trouble .
I like the fact that it cuts in the upright vertical position , and is great for cutting along the edge of the woods and fence row across the back of the property .
I think I'll keep it a while .

With the faded red (not to say pink) on the tractor, the Haban looks good...!

Re: What did you do with your cub today?
Yes, there are TWO things in life on which you can depend.
Gravity, and Triangles. Cats not so much, but definitely Gravity and Triangles.
By the way... I used Loader-Mutt today... digging out a large fish-pond. Actually, it'd be more accurate to say I thrashed the he11 out of it, and although it has a big crack in the back corner of the bucket, loose pivots everywhere, an engine that's now smoking a bit, wiring that has JUST ENOUGH integrity to energize the starting solenoid and ignition points... and a hood no longer attached, it still did a heckuva good job moving about 15 tons of dirt.
Of course, in order to rip that dirt loose, I used the '57 Allis D17 with New Holland backhoe attachment (wasn't originally a 3-point attachment, but it sure is now)... and I used the '50 Allis WD (with homemade 3-point) and an unknown-brand of scraper blade), but Loader-Mutt did all the transport work... scooping up the mostly-loose clay, and toting it up to the top of the dam, piling it just over the edge...
The pond area is about 75' long, about 25' wide, and when done, about 5' deep... 4' of which, will be under water...
By the way- that's the Bobcat ZTR mower, behind it is a small dump-trailer, I've been putting SOME of the loose dirt into that trailer, and pulling it up to the north yard to level out areas where the new septic field has been settling in... so multiple birds with one stone...

old149 here I don't know I pulled a lot of dead waight whith my 149 even a 19 foot travel trailer when I pull a large tree I use an old car hood as a sled works good YOU CANT STOP A CUBvince_o wrote:Ok goota say this, Im not impressed buy the pulling power of my 1872. We cut trees for the last 3 days and drug them up out of the holler and Vinces 582 with red spring, bad throw out bearing will out pull that tractor. Ive never liked a hydro, and this conferms it. It pulls a plow great, but pulling stadic weight, Ill take the gear drive.

Re: What did you do with your cub today?
Yesterday I had a hickory tree and a 20" limb out of walnut taken down and so I had all the brush and logs to clean up so the loader was called to active duty and tomorrow the 2072 will be pulling the big logs out to get them cut up.

Re: What did you do with your cub today?
Today , I brought home a non running 130 Case tractor , you may ask what does that have to do with .....What did you do with your cub today ?
What do you think I used to drag that dead Case up onto the trailer with .....
Something I didn't realize till I got the Case home .....Both the 100 and 130 are 10 hp tractors and were built in 1965 .
A couple of weeks ago I brought home an old MTD , now a Case .....next thing you know I'll bring home something green........
.....No Way !!!!!!!!!

Jess, nutting wrong with bringing home green, when they leave in pieces it leads to more green to buy yellow and red, or in my case put my kids threw school!

WOW Jess! That 130 Case is a nice find as they are a rarer, sought after model. If you need any info on it I have a couple of contacts that would gladly help you out. I would like to see some closer pics of it.

Re: What did you do with your cub today?
Cal somebody else told me that the 130 was a desireable and rare Case tractor . I may have to visit a Case site to learn more .
I'm not a Case expert , but I've seen a few Cases , ( mostly 200 and 400 series ) but I never even heard of a 130 much less ever seen one .
I had to move a 127 off the trailer to haul the Case home , I'll get some better pictures once I get it off the trailer .

Re: What did you do with your cub today?
UMM...Which Cub? I have 14 of them. Well...I just got done tearing apart a k301 out of a 1200 that i bought that just had the engine rebuilt.Real nice shape with sleeve hitch setup and deck.Paid $300.00 for it cuz the former owner was fed up with it after the govenor stopped working a few hours after rebuild.Tore down the engine and the plastic govenor gear inheritly grenaded.Everything else was like new.And yes i replaced it with a steel geared gov.All in a days work but while doing it i grumbled off and on wishing i did not have to completely disassemble the engine to replace dat one widdle part.Oh well,Still enjoyed it and it runs perfectly!! Tim

Re: What did you do with your cub today?
Sheared a pin in the drive shaft of one of the 104s last weekend. Had to call the 126 back into mowing duty and start pulling the shaft on the 104. Now the 126 is cutting uneven. Its a good thing next weekend is a holiday.

Picked up a creeper drive and some #1 tiller parts (I think there's enough to make one whole one) this weekend. This has finally got me excited for doin some cub work this winter. I'll be starting them as soon as i park the 126 for the winter.
