The 124

Post by l palma »

I picked this up from my local sears collector.
It had a hydro pump on it at one time but was MIA.It has water in the tranny so it was froze up.Made for some interesting load and unload difficulties...
It came with a set of chains but I took them off so it would drag easier.

Lew,
Nice find on the 124!
Talkin' about the water in the rearend gets me thinking about the Jane Doe D my Dad bought years ago in January. The guys trying to haul it couldn't get it to move. They had to build a fire  under to rear to get the water to melt to move it. Talk about lightin' a fire under your backside  !!

Ken,
My first plan is to warm up the tranny and dump the water out of it.Then clean it out.
It won't take much to get it running as it was run in the spring.
Keep the weights, lights, creeper, and hydro lift rockshaft.Put some better fenders on it.
Put on the original lift arm,fix the pto linkage, put a deck under it,sell it and move on to the next one.
