Isn't that from when Cub Cadet tried to go on their own before MTD bought Cub Cadet?
If you click on the Message 2 you can zoom and read it.

Cub Cadet was never out on their own. MTD bought Cub Cadet from IH and formed the Cub Cadet Corp which was a wholey owned subsidiary of MTD.

I have sorted through a lot of paper work and "threw" most of it away too. This ad bragging about how the new "Cub Cadets" will no longer be built by International Harvestor is something I definitely would have through away! The last real Cub Cadet was built by IH in Louisville.

Steve,
A lot of folks on here would disagree with you on that. CCC continued to use most of the IH design through 1989. None of the IH built tractors had series II or Magnum engines, power steering, 3 turn steering gears, wheel studs instead of bolts, two pc differential carriers diesel engines and probably a few other things I can't think of at the moment.

Sorry, I was feeling like a blithering idiot the other night. I guess I was missing the golden era of good old "Made in the USA" manufacturing. International Harvestor once built serious farm machinery like Farmall tractors and in addition to their big diesel rigs they also built light pick up trucks for a while. I once had a 1940 1/2 ton and a 1955 and a 1963. Today I have a 1945 Farmall A, a 1950 Farmall Cub, and a 1971 Cub Cadet 108 which is built with the same parts and mindset as the earlier "real" tractors. I guess I was just missing the good old days. Tell me, is it true that that todays Cub Cadet branded equipment is still made in USA? Somewhere in Ohio? Not China? God Bless!!!

That doesn't make it IH-built. CCC built red tractors for IH from '82-'85.

Jim,
All the red tractors had IH and International on them, but more were built by CCC than were by IH.
