It depends on how much snow you get and how heavy the snow is. Around here usually Mother Nature does a pretty good job the next day.

like Carl said it depends on the snow. I use my blower on my 1450 and blade on my CCO. I use the 1450 most with the blower and clean up with the CCO. We will get 3'-4' drifts that a blade wont touch, but I can use the blower on it, and the clean it up.

I've only used my blade once in the 8 years I've had it, that was last year when we got that October snow storm  I was still in dirt mode with the 122, ags and no chains ( yeah, that worked well )

Here's my winter set up. Both have fluid filled tires and I just got a set of weights for the 122 ( thanks Lew  )

For me a blade is for fun and a thrower is for moving snow.

I have a concrete driveway and have to use a blade to finish cleaning off the snow. If I dont, the snow turns to ice over night and becomes VERY difficult to remove for some time.

Thats a great 1 - 2 punch, Jeff in PA. My 71 is set up with IH 42" blade. The 72 should have a QA42 blower. Yup, you need both!
