New import adjustable 30 carb
At plow day Merk was showing the astounded masses a great looking new 30 carb he found. He was going to test it at plow day but as we all know......it was a little wet This past weekend was another plow day and I wondered if he had a scouting report.

Re: New import adjustable 30 carb
They have been showing up at swap meets for two years, or was it three. The guys that sell bulk tie rod ends, gas caps, air filters, and such like that are getting them from some place, and I see they seem sell like hotcakes when they have them.
I never have tried one myself but read somewhere else a while back that the first batch leaked like a siv (porous casting, however many that was) and that the matter was later resolved.

I found this carb on E-Pay.sacky07 wrote:Why cant any type of cheap repo or this carb be found on the net?
Finally feeling better. Had a few things that needed done before I tried carb on my 149. I tried to install a fuel line fitting on new carb. Something is wrong with the threads...fitting won't screw on.....threads were undersize.
Carb had a 1 year warranty on e-pay site. Will give seller a call Monday before I do anything to it. .

1/8-27 NPT? I'll measure a thread gage at work to see what the proper diameter is so you can make a mark on the tap so you run it in the correct amount.Merk wrote:I found this carb on E-Pay.sacky07 wrote:Why cant any type of cheap repo or this carb be found on the net?

I have all the thread gages and taps/reamers at work to measure and fix the carb. The carb is going to work with me Monday.

That's good. I'll still try to remember to get the measurement since not everyone has access to thread gages

Re: New import adjustable 30 carb
The threads were undersized when I first check the threads.
Ran a 1/8-27 NPT tap and check the threads again.
Life is good now.
Proving grounds is too wet to plow plus 149 is burried in the front of my trailer. Hopfully by Wednesday the carb goes on my 149.
