NOT HAPPY!!! That was mine. He was going to restore it. That was a nice original(less paint) tractor. Pull start to boot.

He appears to be a start up parts guy i've found his web site and other posts on other forums. Never meet him or dealt with him but it seams to me that his prices are on the high side of average but he does appear to have the quality to go with it….

 Really sad to see a nice, original cub torn apart for monetary reasons. A pull start to boot. There are cubs out there not salvageable and needing to be parted. This sounds like one that shouldn't have met that fate. :?

Mike this tractor is not yours. The one you sold me didn't look as good as this one but yes it does have the pull start and is now sitting in Tom River Nj.

The one that I'm parting is the 4th 3 digit I've bought in 2 years. All anyone had to do is pay for it but no one would so here it is.

I got plenty of the right 3 digit parts to put another one together. There's a 3 digit in nepa for 1200 and I don't see anyone jumping to buy that one.

Now for the prices are high, but your not paying shipping. I can charge you 10.00 for part and 15 for shipping and people think it's a good deal but 25 for part free shipping is over priced. You tell me which one is better.

Well, it would seem there are more of these in the Eastern states. I've never seen one in person yet. I like Jess, would like one some day, but looks like they will be well beyond my budget. :(

I didn't have any intentions of stirring up a hornets nest , I actually didn't know the seller was a member .
I probably should have kept my opinion to myself , my apologies .

That said , I've owned probably 8 or 10 different Originals over the years , and never paid over $200 for any of them and most ran , so $1200 is definitely out of my price range even for a 3 digit .
I presently own three low 4 digits that I'm going to eventually restore when I retire ( which isn't that far off ) , one will have a Motts mower .
They will probably become trailer queens and go to shows .

Jim W , the only 3 digit I've ever seen was the prototype that Paul Bell owned shortly before he sold it to Tim , it never even entered my mind to ask him what he'd take for it since I figured it wasn't for sale .

I couldn't even imagine finding two 3 digits with serial numbers that close .
I see a lot of cub cadets while going down the tracks , its a shame I can't pull over and ask about them .

Jesse,
Out here I saw 2 , 3 digits in one day.One was at Jacktown this past may, 968, the one Chris mentions for sale in PA and the other, 969, I saw the same day I picked up an a 5 digit Original from a seller at Jacktown. It was sitting in his barn. Not pretty like the two shown here.Same guy sold me a 125 with a hydro lift that Jeff in PA now owns.

The 4 3 digits I have owned are:
#548 now in little egg harbor NJ
#784 now in Fork River NJ
#786 in pieces
#794 now in toms river area Nj
Also had Cub Original w/ Danco Loader all in the last two years. May not get this lucky ever again.

Jlaws
I've paid any where from 150 to 1500 for the 31 Cub Originals I've owned.

I haven't parted anything out for a long time but, when I was,I always said the nicer ones come apart easier.
They're only valuable to the people that collect them. It's that way with everything.

I have one 4 digit O and feel very fortunate to even have that. Would love to have a 3 digit but simply can't afford it. As far as the one being parted, I guess it'll go to someone with more bucks than me. That said, thanks to forums like this one history will record that that particular tractor no longer exists in any sense of its original form and hence in the long run will likely be of little to no value. Just my opinion.

Sad as it is to say, it takes Cubs to keep other Cubs running. There may be guys with 3 digits that need parts that are 3 digit specific so they have to come form some place.
Personally I always wanted and found a 4 digit(39??) and now that I have it I would jaust as soon it have a different home as I will probably not give it the attention I should.....but I still won't part it.

That reduction housing will probably show up in a later original and won't be a pull start and have the wrong pedestal but someone will remember and tell the guy he got a fake 3 digit serial number.

There not one original cub cadet tractor out there unless you have one new in the box.

This is not a pull start tractor.

I'm not parting out my 52 Chevy sedan or my 71 Chevelle,BUT,when I'm dead and gone,I guarantee someone probably will.If no one ever parted out a 3 digit Original, they wouldn't be a collectors item.
I say go for it Mr. Nixon!!!

I certainly would never consider that option. If the wolf was at the door, than that's when the whole unit would go. Nope, not a 3 digit. Rather see it restored.

Chris sold me #784 with pull start after i asked him to find me a three digit after I made a deal with a guy who contacted me from my ad i put on this site and the night before i was going to pick it up changed his mind and didn't want to sell it.. Funny storie but it was the same tractor
I have mikes three digit.I also have another mikes three digit #600.
He has helped me and my brother out with parts and tractors and is fair with his prices.
Everyone can bad mouth him but you all had your chance to buy it.
Most of these tractors have been torn apart and had parts swapped out any how.
I also know that the thin front axle from this tractor is going into my brothers three digit that he got from chris.
So this parts tractor will help other projects get finished.
