What's the difference between a 451 and 551 thrower?

The 551 has a taller auger housing but the gearing is the same i believe.

So other than height it will interchange with a 451?

The 551 will fit the same tractors as the 451. The 551 has the advantage of not needing a drop kit if you run it on a Super though. The 551 used lighter steel overall and more stamped parts while the 451 uses more bar and heavy plate.
