At any rate it was a darn good thing that I had a spare A arm on hand at the time, at least that one made it through the Winter

The place that I work at does not stock any of the usual high carbon steels and I actually had to go to another machine shop just to get my hands on a piece of 4140.
Well, my Son got around to welding it in on Tuesday and I think it's nice to have a spare on hand again, with mud season right around the corner anything's possible
