grote light

Post by Howard D »

Can someone give me the dim for the hole in the frame for the grote light wire. And what size hole it needs to be I know that there is a grommet that goes in the hole.
Thanks in advance.

There should already be a hole for the rear light, left side of the removable seat support assembly. Don't recall the size, I picked up the grommet at an auto parts store, but the grommet needs to accomodate the thicker support assembly.

Seat support assembly showing hole in side (part #4):

The 100 I mounted the grote light on has fenders and the spring assists (overkill.. Brinly and IH), so the "proper" hole was occupied and I didn't want to drill any holes so I rotated the mount for the light to utilize the existing fender bolt.
This kind of shows how I mounted it (but had not routed the wire yet)

The spring assist bracket mounts under the frame, so yours needs to be fixed.then you can mount the light correctly.

Humm... I guess I missed something, I am not understanding where under the frame you mean, isn't there is a welded nut on the underside of frame for the bolt that holds the bracket on (and fender & seat support assembly), not sure how that works.
