Hi all,
I searched the forum and the web, and came up empty handed on this one... The parts manual isn't helping me either. I have the front grill housing of a 122, and want to build a grill for it. I cannot figure out what held the original (missing) grill (and I have no other 122 to look at). The design for my 125 is different.
It's not obvious to me either how the original clamps (which I also do not have) would fit/work. Can anyone post a pic of how it's supposed to be? I would also like suggestions for has worked in the past for an installation different than factory on that housing. The material I plan on using is perforated aluminum, about 1/8" thick.
Thank-you in advance,
122 front grill clamps/hold-downs

Re: 122 front grill clamps/hold-downs
Your grill was not held in by clips, there are two holes in the bottom of the cast grill housing and two of the studs on the grill fit in these, the top part is held in by the blue blockout panel which fits over it.
Here is the grill...

Re: 122 front grill clamps/hold-downs
Thanks Lew; I will take another look.
The parts diagram refers to IH-384898-R1 "Strip, Grille Panel Clamp", which appeared to be clamps that hold the grill into the housing...
I don't have the blue block-out panel either, so I will have to rig something up...
Thanks again,

Here's a backside shot of the blockout panal.
They are easy to fabricate providing you have a sample.
Note the clip in back of the wire harness, there are four one for each corner. They are easy to fabricate providing you have a sample.
