Manual Transmission

Post by 122gb »

I just bought a Cub Cadet 1000. What type of oil is used in the transmission? I am going to change it before I put it to work.

Thanks

Hy-Tran. In the manual for my 122 it says you can use 30 wt. motor oil or Hy-Tran. The manual for the 1000 says Hy-Tran only. They are basically the same transmissions so I don't know why 30 wt. wouldn't work.

If you can find Hy-Tran that is what I would use. It somehow has the ability to deal with moisture that can end up getting in your rear fluid over time. 2nd I would maybe get some rearend fluid from tractor supply or someplace like that.
