1650 dual hydro

I recently traded a 73 for a 1650 dual hydro which made both parties happy . The 73 is a fairly rare (actually the 4th rarest cub made with 7678 units built ) but I have to believe that a dual hydro 1650 also has to be fairly rare . I have two questions ........Is there any record of how many dual hydro 1650 were built , and the second one is did they make dual hydro 1450's ??

TIA Jess

That is Nice Jess. Very nice shape! Yea....my 1450 has that feature of the two sticks. My inner handle rod needs replaced....someone tried to weld a stop nut on the lower threads.....but they r available aftermarket I see. I need to finish the diesel then get back to the 1450...... Or install the duel hydraulics in the 1650 I picked up this spring. Yours is in real nice condition. Good trade! Dave

Nice trade, I have a 1650, single stick and a 1450 dual stick. I can't say for sure, but it seems I have heard more about 1450 with dual sticks than 1650. But that could just be because I have one.
Enjoy that beast of a tractor, the 1650 is a hoss.

Thanks guys .....Gary mine are just the opposite , my 1450 is a single spool and its a beast , can't wait to try the 1650 .
My 1450 and 1650 have a few differences , the 1450 is a last month of production QL serial # 662701 ( September. 79) , they started production of the 82 series in October . The 1450 has 1 inch spindles and 82 series style steering wheel , while the 1650 doesn't have either and serial # 610762 (may 77) .

Lew and Dave , that's all that's missing is the taillights and seat and I have both . Even the muffler box is in excellent condition with no cracked tin which is rare to find .

The same weekend I picked up the 1650 I found another complete 1650 engine except for the starter at a swap meet . I have a 1000 starter from a QL I parted a few years back and I'm 99% sure they are the same . I don't have any definite plans for the extra engine , well see how well the one in the 1650 runs or I may stick it in a smoker 169 I have .

Jess, good find!
I also had a dual hydraulic lift 1450....great tractor just did not have enough use for it to keep it.

Jess, you could get dual hydraulics on a 1250 1450 or 1650. As far as rarity, I have only owned one (a 1250) and only seen probably 15 others in person. I would say less than 5% had the dual hyd. option.

The starters will interchange, but some k series starters had 10 teeth and some had 13 on the drive. I think the 13 tooth is the older design, and 10 tooth is newer high torque design. Both will mesh just fine with the flywheel.

That 1650 looks like it's been very well taken care of. Hope to see it in person one day.
