Here are a few pictures of my IH Cub Cadet 1450, well equipped for snow removal this winter. These garden tractors are so much fun! No more paying for "Mr. Plow" in his pick up truck tearing up the lawn, pushing gravel all over, and bugging me to go out and move our cars around. These garden tractors do such a good job removing snow that the task is fun and exciting, and clear much better, where ever I choose to place the snow!

One suggestion to keep you nice and toasty. Wear a full face motorcycle helmet. Yes I am completely serious. I wear mine and now only does it keep the snow off your face, you stay nice and toasty since heat isn't lost thru your head.

Personally I prefer a snow thrower over a blade but my driveway is paved. Someone else will have to comment on a snow thrower on gravel ( I guess it would work with the shoes set high )

Dave, Thank you for the kind words! I don't have a problem using my IH Cub Cadet at night or early morning, or when ever to keep up on the drive so we can leave for work, ect.! All factory lighting works on my tractor, which is a must when working by the road. Back up lights are handy as I'm sure you know! With such an entertaining winter storm picture-story thread found at Cub Cadet Collectors, I plan to post and write here this winter season.
Above I cleaned up the blade, and painted it with Rust Oleumn White. I was surprised at how well the paint stuck, and turned out over-all. I used paint reducer to clean the blade before paint. Now both my 1450 and 72 are equipped with IH 42" blades. This will be my first year using my 1450 hydro drive garden tractor for snow clearing.

Thank you for the video Jeff! Nice having a hydro drive IH Cub Cadet! I have a gravel drive, so I'm still skeptical of using a snow thrower,..... though I would like that attachment someday. I get out and operate my tractor any chance I get, so most of the time the IH blade don't present much of a problem collecting snow piles!

I could not understand why to wear motorcycle helmet.

Blowers work fine on gravel - once the ground has frozen. Last year it didn't get really cold until after we had snow on the ground, I shaved gravel and dirt humps off and blew them all over the place!

I'll add my 123. The QA-36 works great, although I need to replace my gear box shafts before winter as the gears aren't tight on them anymore.
I don't have a dozer blade, but I switch back and forth between the blower and a Brinly box scraper, depending on where I need to get into.
