I guess this hobby has come full circle
Picked this up last weekend. It actually has a bit of sentimental value to me. It hung inside of the dealership that gave me my first tax paying job when I worked there back in the mid 1980's.
This job is what led me back to Cub cadets and other brands about 12 years ago. I was talking with a friend at work about first jobs, and I said how much I enjoyed working there, and working on the tractors when they came out of the box new and how it eventually led me to my current occupation. He informed me that his mother was selling a blown up 1250, and that I should buy it from her since I liked working on them so much. Needless to say, I did, and it snowballed from there.
I was very happy to get it, and I can't wait to get it cleaned up and hung in the shop! I made sure to let he previous owner know that I really appreciate her selling it to me, and that I will take good care of it. It has a build date of 7/1974 on the spec tag on the side. I have another vintage sign or two, and it will be hung next to them as soon as I can get some drywall painted in my spare time. (spare time??? )

Oh, yeah, I will definitely take care of transportation...but, they might get lost in "the triangle" and end up on my garage wall!

OK...Vinny....good point. I have seen him drive in his "green" half electric car....and he gets side tracked at every wood pile he passes! He can not b trusted with such precious cargo!

Nobody recognizes the map yet???? OMG I thought I was in good company here...
Dave, that looks pretty sweet, where did you find yours?
Tom, If you are anything like me you would be nervous hauling them. The Cub Cadet sign was in the truck bed by itself, but the Case sign (I think it is more valuable than any of them. Has to be pre-1982) and this one came home 60 miles in the bed of a waaaay overloaded truck. I was really puckered up hauling them. This one rode home strapped flat across the top of a big auction haul. I also had a Wheel Horse tiller strapped to the tailgate with about 20 Husky saws strategically placed around it. It was one of those times that I should have taken the trailer but didn't.
This may not look that big in the pic, but it is 5 1/2 feet square.

Re: I guess this hobby has come full circle
So the real question is, what would they look like after Moe, Curley and Shemp got done hauling them?
I had to look up the map reference, but at least I am first to identify!

Re: I guess this hobby has come full circle
I found mine on local CL. A guy who was into another brand of tractor.... I think wheelhorse.... Was "wholesaling" these! I could not get there fast enough. As for the map.....I just spent 1/2 hour trying to find what it was about.....I did not realize Toms Stooges comment had to do with the map
