This was a long time coming but finally done and thought I'd share. I bought this last fall, actually used it some, but it needed work. It's a wheel horse 60" 2000 rpm finish mower. After mowing season, I ripped it all apart, new bearings and seals in all noisy spindles and pulleys, new belt, new blades, new metal in bad rust areas, sheet metal straightening and welding, new skids, and various bushings on the lathe to get everything tight. It was one of my slowest refurbish jobs since I work so much but the result should be worth it.
I was going to trim it in white but being a wheel horse originally I stayed all red and the black and custom decals were my own liberties to make it better match the 982 decals. I'm a category 0 tiller from really being set.

Nice work!
Was it ment for the D series? I know they where quite rugged with the big d250 being a 4 cylinder Renault!

Re: New 982 implement
Yes, it was on a d series. This one was a 982 size super with 20 hp motor. I want to say d180 or something around that. It's essentially an L59 Or rm59 that turns left handed. I couldn't find parts at all until I searched for similar woods models.

Re: New 982 implement
Kevin - Wow, so cool! I have drooled over the idea of having one ever since getting the rear pto. I have the Cub 442 tiller (Bush Hog Cat 1 they converted to Cat 0 for Cub).
I rarely use the tiller. I have even less use for the rear mower, so I have let all the Woods ones go by that I have found (and they have been rare to find). I would have to cut my neighbors field to justify one!

Re: New 982 implement
Thanks guys. I plan to use it weekly, so I skimped a bit on perfecting the bodywork like I would a hood or fender on a tractor. Figured what's the use if it gets scratched and bent some. I have about two acres and another 3 I mow off once or twice a year. There's woods mowers around here I considered switching pulleys on to make 2000 rpm but figured the extra cost I have in this one beats engineering something for regular use.
I could use a tiller that mounts and goes since right now I have a dedicated tiller tractor all summer with the 2B. Part of the fun of collecting though. And hey, I don't have any use for some of my attachments but I still have them.

Looks very good. Post some shots of it in action when you have some high stuff to cut.
