It has begun. Pulled front wheels off 109 today with a hammer :x one wheel is junk. See pic of what fix a flat does to your wheels. Had a spare front wheel in bone yard and a set of rears ready to go so at least I will have it rolling. Attached before and after pics of front wheel restoration. Spindles are good just need some new front rubber.

Got the 109 fired up today. Runs great. No smoke and nice and smooth. Going to need a carb kit points and general tune up but so far so good. I see it has the same tires on it as my 1450, is that a problem? According to tractor data it is supposed to have smaller tires on it. I searched forum but didn't see any info on the tire size for 109. I hope not to have to buy a whole set of tires

Ok I'm going with that since that's what I have. Will the 44c deck off a dead 1250 work on this 109 I hope? Rebuilt the deck a few years back and have hardly used it. Thanks for the reply dag

If your deck was on a 1250 then it should be a 44A. The C decks had a 5/8" top pulley and were used on the 82 series tractors. Or someone could have changed out the pulley. If the top pulley is 3/8" the it will work on the 109.

I'll check that deck number Tomorrow to be sure. I have run it on my 1450. I found an operator manual for the 109 it lists 38, 42 and 48inch "center mount deck" which shows the drive pulley in the center of deck. I know the 44 I have is off-set. Also found some tire size data. It lists 4.80/400-8 for the 86 through 129 with "other tire sizes available" I will assume that is the 16x6.50-8 listed for the 149. I have attached a photo of the rear tire options listed in the manual for 86 108 and 109

Decks and tires of all sizes will interchange from the 1450/1250/109 some of the newer 1250/1450's had 1" front spindles these rims won't swap over with out tanking the steering spindles too. Decks require the sub-frame that came with the deck.

If you used it on the 1450 it should work on the 109.

Ok then it sounds like I have what I need. I think it is a 44A. I can't reed the model number on the 44 deck. But it has the same size pulley as my 50A deck. Things are coming together. hope to mow with it in a couple weeks as long as the hydro checks out. Waiting on a few parts. Having a free 1250 for parts has been invaluable
Thanks for the replies

Rebuilt carb, installed new points, tires and wheels only to find a pretty good oil leak from lower rear blower housing. Rear main seal I'm guessing? Looks easier to remove engine than the QL or SGT at least
